Aioli (garlic olive oil mayo ) is easy to make fresh and it's delicious...

2 garlic cloves

1 large egg yolk

2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

Mince and mash garlic to a paste with a pinch of salt using a large heavy knife. Whisk together yolk, lemon juice, and mustard in a bowl. Combine oils and add, a few drops at a time, to yolk mixture, whisking constantly, until all oil is incorporated and mixture is emulsified. (If mixture separates, stop adding oil and continue whisking until mixture comes together, then resume adding oil.)

Whisk in garlic paste and season with salt and pepper. If aïoli is too thick, whisk in 1 or 2 drops of water. Chill, covered, until ready to use.

Goals
Motivation Tips

Today despite Canadian Thanksgiving I hit my intermediate goal of 195 lbs. Before I started Traineo I was at an all time high of 212 lbs and feeling like hell. I joined Traineo at 206 lbs and I'm currently sitting at 195 lbs. Next goal in my sights is 185 lbs which is just lbs away from my ultimate goal of 180 lbs.

Changing my lifestyle has improved my physical and mental health. I feel good, look better and I have no doubt that I will attain my goals.

Charting my progress on Traineo, reading the forums and seeing the progress everyone had been making as a whole gives me inspiration. Stay positive and we can all achieve what we want. Thanks all !

You can get protein that tastes like fruit juice when you mix it with water. I use Syntrax Nectar and it tastes great.

For me it's chicken wings and Guinness..... actually fried bar food and any beer. I wasn't too fussy, so that's what got me here in the first place !
Running stamina - help!
Exercise & Training Tips

One thing that's been helping me build up some decent running stamina is good long walks. I walk for a time then run for a time and switch back to a walk. It keeps my heart rate elevated longer than just running then stopping because I'm tired.

Xbox 360 + Dead Rising = Awesome !

I love my Xbox 360, but it's like the anti-workout drug for me. I've been avoiding it until my workout is over then I play for a reward.

Don't let the stress drag you in. I've had a lot of stress in my life lately and I've done my best to channel it into a positive environment for fitness. When I felt down this weekend I got off my ass and went for a hike for a couple hours. Being outside building up a good sweat really cleared my head. From a high of 212 lbs I finally hit 200 lbs today and it's only going to get better, stress and all.

Stick with it because you can do this. The best reward is success !!

Honestly I started out with walking. It's a good fat burner and if you've been out of it for a while it's a great start. A long walk will kickstart things and prepare you for more activity like jogging and running. Just my opinion...

That's a really good point that I never considered in this lifestyle change. I don't think I'm going to start painting my nails, but I'm going to try your advice. I guess I better start by shaving off my beard.

Quoting: Blueline
So in a way, I am not being deprived of what others are doing... I have already indulged in all that stuff (way too much)... and now I am on hold while others catch up.

That is an awesome way to look at it. Once the Guinness padding is moved off the waist we're going to feel a lot better. I love the black beer and I'll have one when I feel my diet is more under control. Until then a positive attitude is going to carry me through.

I'll stick with the treadmill and catch up on all the movies I want to watch. It's been really hot here too, so I can stay in my air conditioned house.

Thanks !

I bought a good quality treadmill that has a motorized incline and a lot of different programs on it. I also picked up an LCD TV to sit in front of it and I find that keeps me on the machine a lot longer. Is there any real big differences between running on a treadmill and running outside ? I like the treadmill because the TV keeps me occupied and prevents boredom.
