Have you tried another form of body fat calculating - using calipers or infrared? They tend to be more accurate in calculating body fat %

I read that you had your thyroid checked....have you been checked for PCOS? (Poly-Cystic Ovarian Syndrome) I hope you *don't* have it...but it's not all that uncommon. One symptom is unexplainable weight gain.

I also use calorie-count.com. I like being able to count calories, and it also gives me an analysis of my diet (a letter grade). They have a huge database of food, and you can also put in your own items. They also have a recipe calculator, and estimates of allowance based on desired weightloss and goal date.

Having everything I need on one site would be awesome.

Having said that, I also know someone who uses this site, but bases his diet on the weight watchers point system. Without having to be in cahoots with weight watchers, having a way to input points data might be helpful for people using that system.

You can also try Mache (pronounced mosh), it has a mild, nutty flavour. that's what we're using instead right now. Although we always eat it raw.
Thinsperation?
Motivation Tips

I have two, actually three thinsperations

The first one, is that I would like to lose weight before next summer, as I will have my own market garden. I will be gardening to sell produce, and I know that it will be labour intensive. I also know that the lighter I am, the easier it will be for me to maintain motivation through the hot summers days, and keep up with the intense manual labour involved. I also want to lose weight by this christmas and next summer, as my boyfriend's parents have never seen me at a healthy weight. I don't know why this is important to me, as they have never said or indicated in any way this is a problem. I guess it's just that I feel that they haven't really seen *me*.

The second thinsperation I have is more to maintain a healthy weight after keeping it off. In the next few years, I would like to have children. I want to be a healthy weight when I have them, and I want to know how to eat and live healthfully during pregnancy, and while raising children so that I can teach them habits that are good for their bodies.

Hi,

I've heard that for weight loss, it's best to swtich up your routine. I'm a creature of habit, and I like to do the same thing. Could anyone give suggestions as to how often to switch exercises, and which are best to interchange with eachother?

thanks
Erasing workout entries

Hi,

The other night, I came home from work and I wanted to enter my workout. I didn't realize it was just after midnight, and it recorded it on the wrong day. I'm wondering if it's at all possible to completely "erase" entries, so they don't show up on my graph at all.

thanks very much,

t

P.S....you can get used to drinking things without sugar. I used to dislike tea without sugar too, and then I adjusted to something different

I drink a lot of tea, especially in the am. While I drink iced tea with Splenda, I cannot stand the taste of any artificial sweetener in my hot tea! I like it on the sweet side, too.

I drink Yogi tea, Vanilla Hazelnut. It has carob and stevia in it, and while it's not as sweet as tea with sugar, I find it does the trick

I can't make it more than 15 minutes on the Elliptical because my feet are burning! Wow I really sound pathetic.

Is it because you are on your feet all day that your feet are burning? my boyfriend has the same problem. Have you tried using rowing machines? Or perhaps exercising before work...?

Ryan: I believe it can put you at risk of diabetes, particularly if you have it in the family, or are hypglycaemic.

I have hypglycaemia, and I have diabetes on both sides of my family, down to my siblings. I know that if I don't eat at regular intervals, my blood sugar goes down and I am more prone to eating too much, especially sugar and simple carbs. I also get sleepy if my blood sugar drops, and I have trouble focusing - to the point where I don't drive.

Perhaps, like any diet, it depends on the person. It may work from some people, but not everyone.
