NSVs - Non Scale Victory
Fat 2 Fit Radio |
No worries Tish, the NSV's keep me going too.
I have one that might sound a bit silly but yesterday I reached for a figure hugging hoodie with a horizontal stripe pattern, yes ladies, HORIZONTAL stripes!!!! In the past this would have made me think twice, not just the stripes but the figure hugging. I love my new body shape, although no where near perfect yet, I love showing off my newly defined waistline and the lovely shape of my breasts (settle down guys). I used to hide behind layers of oversized clothing to hide all of my bumps but now I am "Loud and Proud". Just 7.7 kgs to reach my original goal weight (17 pounds) |

Sofa to 5K
Training Routines |
I've got 1.3 tomorrow night, was hoping to do it tonight, but it's raining and I have the ondet of a head cold, don't want to risk making cold worse as I am heading into the recording studio tomorrow. Sounds like excuses, I know but it's kinda valid.
I have enjoyed the first week so far, it is much easier than I thought. This is coming from someone who would only run from the car park to KFC to buy a Dinner Box. |

Anyone else doing Couch to 5K right now?
Training Routines |
Well that was easier than I thought, I am now looking forward to session 2 this week. I think somewhere in the wolrd tonight a pig starting flying.

Hi :)
Introduce yourself! |
Jamie I think it's about 84 pounds. Yeh, the taking care of appearance thing has made a huge difference to me. I used to resent the "pretty, skinny" girls, but now I realise all I was resenting was my inability to be good to myself. Each day I start with a ritual of light make-up and hair and it is amazing how it makes me feel 1000% better no matter what the scales are saying that day.

feeling pathetic
Motivation Tips |
Yep, what everyone else said. You started, that's the main thing, now enjoy the pride you will feel in yourself as you increase your activity and fitness each day.

Hoping for the best.

I still eat everything I love, just in smaller portions and not as often.
Try setting smaller goals, don't put so much pressure on yourself, lots of baby steps add up to great results! |

Hi :)
Introduce yourself! |
Welcome Jamie
Joining this website was a great move and and I wish you all the best. I absolutely relate and encourage you to make the most of this site and your motivation to transform into a healthier version of you. Here are my rules, they work for me, if you get something out of it then great! Don't put too much pressure on yourself. :-)Eat the calories to maintain my goal weight :-)Commit to three 40 minute planned training activities per week (Mine include, walking, Bike Riding, Exercise Bike, Eliptical Trainer, Wii Fit) :-)Reality Check - no more telling lies to myself, be real. :-)Celebrate my Non-Scale Victories with rewards (new clothes etc) :-)Take pride in my appearance each day, hair, make-up, clothing. :-)Toss out the old clothes the minute they get too big. :-)Buy clothing the next size down (it's a great feeling when they too eventually get loose) :-)Accept and acknowledge compliments and use them as inspiration to continue to my goal weight and ultimate improve health. I have lost 38 kgs in 3 years, with just under 10 kgs to reach my original goal weight. I hope to have that nailed by Christmas this year. Jamie, I wish you all the best of luck, you can do this!!! |

Do you track your motivation levels?
Fat 2 Fit Radio |
I track happiness level rather than motivation. I find they are cloely linked for me as an emotional female.

This has probably been asked a million times but I'm confused
Diet & Nutrition Tips |
As long as it is working for you though that is what matters, if 1600 calories helps you lose weight then great, if you are not , then it's not working and time to rethink your approach.

I am a great believer in using your goal weight maintanence figure as a good guide. It allows you to lose weight and a nice steady pace, realistically and without placing to many restrictions on yourself. This is how I have done it. I have lost almost 37 kgs in 3 years.

I think letting go of the old clothes is great, and now you can buy new ones anyway!!! It's about letting go of the old you to let the new you in.

NSVs - Non Scale Victory
Fat 2 Fit Radio |
A new NSV for me. I survived my trip to the States, I gained 1.5kgs but lost that within a week of being home. So yes this is scale related, but in a way I think it is more mind related in that I could come home and get focussed again quickly, knowing what my end goal is and not beating myself up for enjoying my holiday.
Now to the real NSV, this morning my waist, chest and hip measurements are the smallest they have been for at least 15 years. I now have an official perfect hourglass shape, with my chest and hip measurement precisely equal and a nicely proportioned waist. My hips for a very long time were bigger than everything else due to an extremely unatrractive fat apron which is now dissappearing. This morning I slipped into a new designer skirt which I bought about 6 months ago in a sale but did not fit me back then. So today I woke up with a new shape and a new skirt to wear. YAY!

Thanks Rosie, I am on foot a bit today exploring so will check out those spots. Do you know if Slim Right is a brand here? I usually have a few of their bars in my purse for meal replacement when I am out and about, amd kicking myself now for not bringing a bunch with me. I feel better this morning, got up early and went for a big walk rather than treadmilling it in a tiny gym room in the hotel. Think I have walked off my sins from yesterday. Loads more walking planned today, so much more relaxed about things today.

It;s been gorgeous so far, but tonight it is raining, that's ok, tomorrow is our first rest day.
Ok so today was my first vacation blow out - we went to Universal studios. I ate all the wrong things,1 piece of fried chicken, handful of fries, couple of spoonfuls of cream pudding, 2 x donuts, pkt of crisps, still only very small portions of them(other than the donuts) all but I have not eaten this amount of the wrong kind of foods for a very very long time. So this is a call for help to those in the traineo community from LA. Seriously, where can I buy some healthy food. I am staying near Hollywood and Highland and am struggling to locate any stores that keep the kinds of foods I am used to. I have not come across a grocery store yet. I am not driving, so keep in mind I am on foot with two whining teenagers. I would love your ideas on restaurants or take aways that at least have healthy options. I had forgotten how hard it is to resist temptation here in the States. Tomorrow morning I am going to do an hour on the treadmill to fend off the backlash weight gain. I am also planning to only order healthy meals for the rest of my trip. I thought when I got here that I could have the occassional naughty thing as long as I ate well most of the time - but I am already recognising the habitual patterns that made me obese in the first place, after only 3 days in the US!!! How do you all do it US peeps? I can understand why so many have a problem here. Needless to say my tummy aches tonight. I can't risk going home and undoing all my good work this year. |

What was your trigger?

Oh dear Rosie - that would do it!! You are certainly looking hot these days, more like a MILF than your hubby's Mum.
