Hey everyone I have missed you all so much! I didn't realise how much traineo has been helping me until now.
I have had a few things going on in my life...not going to go into it - but trying to sort it all out...my good news is I am still whittling away at my weight...I plateaued for a while there but cycled calories for a week or so and am now back on track to kick some butt next week ![]() I am now at 105kg and am hoping to crack the 100kg mark in a months time....very exciting times ahead and I am so happy to be back with likeminded folk

Water for me (most days I aim for 3L - but never less than 2L), plays a massive part in keeping me satiated and nibbling on protein type snacks....like nuts, small tins of tuna in springwater, a poached egg on a slice of rye bread and spinach (mmmmm)...I keep cut up veg/fruit on a platter and if i get the urge to pick or grab something, well it is there, ready...I think mine is more of a habit to be constantly crunching something haha....

Hey Jenn - I have a herb patch - which has genovese basil (the best type for pesto!) italian/continental/flat leaf parsley (depending where in the world you live, called different things lol), sage, rosemary and some medicinal/tea herbs which consist of chamomile, echinacea and peppermint...then I have a veg patch which differs throughout the year on the seasons...but I grow at various times throughout the year::tomatoes, swiss chard/silverbeet, capsicums, chilli, various mixed gourmet lettuce, corn (my fave!), butternut squash/pumpkin, zucchini, green beans (on a trellis/tripody thing) and carrots. Want to try garlic and potatoes I find nothing better than going out into the garden really early and picking things for a salad when they are at their prime! Totally delicious! ![]() Fri 25 Apr - 30 mins gardening ((instead of the walk I mentioned!)) was a glorious day out in the sunshine.... Sat 26 Apr - Day 6/Wk 1 Galloway - today was a 1.6km (0.9 mi) walk / run - I finished in 17.29 mins (I feel embarrassed posting these numbers lol) Also did 45 minutes of weights... |

I used to be on the pill, then had the Depo shot which made me gain close to 20 lbs in 6 months and messed me up real bad..then the pill again...then fell pregnant within one month of stopping and trying for a baby.
I agree the pill would put some weight on, exercise and eating correctly would negate the gain I'm sure... I am on no hormonal BC because as Minu mentioned: Quoting: Minu I like being more in touch with nature again, and the moon.That is so true...I hate messing around with something so delicate as hormones.... Kinda off topic :: Before I started exercising/eating proper...my periods were so messed up...skipping months...extremely long periods and terribly heavy...I DREADED that time of the month...now I have dropped some weight and getting regular exercise, they are the best they have ever been....clockwork regularity and 3 days length and nice and light LOL sory for TMI...I just find it amazing how if you look after your body, it looks after you... |

![]() Thanks for asking Rachael! I DO give myself little treats now and then..so theres NO WAY I can say I feel deprived - I think that has whats given me my strength to keep going onwards and upwards. I just try to make 'wiser' choices these days...going back to last year, I'd be getting the cheesiest most fried thing on the menu PLUS fries as a side...bugger the salad and veg haha AND dessert ![]() So last night, I ended up going with a parmesan crusted chicken breast *drool* and asked for no fries on the side and got a big crunchy mouth watering insalata and some roasted veg.... These are the little changes I am so proud of...the little things make a BIG difference.... So no dessert, BUT I did imbibe on some gorgeous white wine I love my wine ![]() Minu - my Nonna is from the South / Palermo / Nonno is from Roma - my mother was born in Roma and emigrated with the family to Australia (Melbourne) when she was 13.... Cynthia, seems theres a few of us about these boards LOL! |

2 nights ago at work I got another compliment from the girl there ((she is just so full of compliments hehe) She said...and I quote "You have nice legs I wish I had your legs.." NO ONE has EVER, EVER said that to me and I have never thought my legs are one of my 'assets'...I am not tall, I am short 5'1 with short little legs so I was really surprised by the compliment...

So I have been invited to dinner tonight with 'the girls' - we are going to an Italian restaurant (my weakness
) I blame it on my half Italian heritage LOL...![]() URL I found their menu online and have decided what I will eat...the 4 slice vegetarian pizza and ask for half cheese...and the italian side salad...I think that is pretty sensible choice - would you agree??? This will be a big thing for me because i have not eaten out at a restaurant since I began my "journey" so wish me luck LOL....

I have never heard about the more calories being burnt during menstruation...It IS true during pregnancy..well your metabolic rate is through the roof
oh how I miss being pregnant LOL...During that time of the month, I get sooooooo hungry like really really hungry I don't think I ever feel satiated during that 2 week time haha...With regards to tiredness...Not really...I have always survived very well on 5 hours a night, theres just SO much to do and not enough hours in the day for me, and then when I DO want a sleep in - I have kids jumping all over my head, so I have learnt to NOT BOTHER with a sleep in haha..... I have heard evening primrose supplements are supposed to be good for PMS symptoms?? |

Thanks for the links to the Galloway program...after reading through the links, I have decided I will start on Monday! I am VERY excited!! I will commence with the pre-conditioning training and work my way onwards and upwards...((as well as keeping up my weight training and cycling)) Before I made a commitment towards a healthier lifestyle, I always used to dream about being able to run again. I used to love running at school not so much for the speed, but the endurance. So, thanks Glovia and Sher for inspiring me to pursue this dream finally @ 32 years of age...
