LET'S EAT!
Diet & Nutrition Tips |
I need help! It would take me hours to calculate the damned calories just in my breakfast. For example I was trying to figure out my breakfast this morning:
Today's breakfast: 'Don's Scrambler' (just made that name) 1 1/2 new potatoes ('bout the total mass of 1 russet) 3-4 pieces of sausage 1 1/2 eggs 1/2 of an onion 1/8th of a green bell pepper (damned things are getting expensive 'round here) about 1 capful of some virgin olive oil about half a teaspoon of butter and another capful of cooking wine about 2 tablespoons of sour cream and some mushrooms, not sure how many but maybe a cupped handful. All of it (except the sour cream) just kind of thrown in a skillet until the entire apartment smelled deliciously edible, then taken off the heat and I ate one half and saved the other. I'm just starting out with this traineo site, I've never really paid attention to the calories in my food before I just throw stuff in the skillet until I'm happy and like the taste. Kind of a cook by the seat of my pants dude. I don't like packaged foods so much, I prefer fresh. So little of what I cook has a nutrition label. I'm stupid short on time these days and trying to figure out the link that traneo gave me for the USDA website to figure out just the calories in my potatoes took me almost 20 minutes. And I rarely cook the same thing two days in a row so it's just not worth it to spend more time doing breakfast math than I spend on a jog outside or doing actual work. I feel like a total food idiot now, it's frustrating and I don't want to give up right when I've started out so I'm asking for some help. What's a good FAST way for me to estimate calorie intake without sacrificing my cooking style and eating prepackaged junk or using the same ingredients every time? And is there a way on Traineo to log WHAT I eat instead of just the calories I eat? |
