Goal met!

You rock Heather. That is a great achievement! I have done the weight thing to feel how much weight I have gained. Still has a shock value either way. It is amazing and you see why getting up stairs a just a little harder then it use to be. Even an extra 10's zaps a lot out of you or can make you feel soooo much lighter. 25 lbs must feel wonderful. I am proud of you!

Great luck meeting your next goal!

I do other things like dancing and low impact aerobics inbetween my elliptical days. We go for walks after dinner if we eat early enough. I would like to get into biking but I need to replace my bike. Or steal my husbands. ;)

Thanks a bunch. I realized today that either I need to speed up to a constant 8-9mph or increase my intensity because my heart rate is sitting at about 130-135bpm. It is starting to take a while to break a sweat. I remember when I was able to run pavement, it would take 3 miles before I would start sweating. This is a great thing for me. I am very happy. I am doing 5 miles every other day. I am not as sore afterwards as I use to be, but the amount I am, is fading quicker. I am happy.

Hi all, I can't run on pavement but I can still do the eliptical or a really high quality treadmill.

While in basic training for the army I injured both hips and haven't been able to recover for almost 6 years now. I gained a large amount of weight very quickly, which only make my hips worse. These last 3 years since being out, I have gone from not being able to climb 5 steps without excrusiating pain to 2 and 3/4 flights with moderate pain at the end; from standing for only 10 minutes max before too much pain dropped me to my knees, to 1 -2 hours with moderate discomfort. I still have too much weight to even try to run on pavement so I am sticking to my eliptical. I get the same sense of the work out and if I am in too much pain I stop and get off and I am already at home. My goal is to be able to run out in the open again. I truly miss it. I really want to run my 7.5/8min mile. I can do that on the machines but once the impact is high, my hips just won't let me. So, my goal is this time next year to run at least one mile at my old speed. If I reach it earlier, great, but it took me this long just to get here, so no big expectations. ;)
Is this programworking for anyone?

We got married in November and we are taking out delayed honeymoon to Cabo San Lucus, Mexico. We leave in 24 days. I am excited but bummed that I didn't loose the weight I wanted, but I am ok. Baby steps right? I am still waiting on my passport which had a hick up. Hubby jokes he will send me a post card. I love him buttttt! ;) I would at least like to get rid of 10lbs before we go. I am tired of being in the 70's, it is ridiculous.

What a wonderful book. Of course there is much of the same information as you find in other books, but so much easier to read. Finished it in a day. Wonderful recipes that are truly easy to cook and taste incredible. I should know, I was a cook for many years and planned on going to culinary school until I injured my hips and can no longer stand for a long period of time. Kindof essential if you want to be a chef. ;)

Has one else purchased this book? Tell me what you think. Can you suggest any other "Clean Eating" books? Any recipes that are your favorite? Would love to hear.
