Hi All-

Thanks again for joining the Nutrition Beta group.

I wanted to give everyone an update on the start of Beta testing. Currently we are finishing up the last updates on the nutrition feature prior to the start of testing. We hope to finish within the next few days and appreciate your continued support.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer -

Good luck on your goals. I would say my goals are really to keep off the sweets and continue to eat balanced and healthy meals.

How are you planning on achieving your goals? Have you mapped out your progress? I know this always helps me when I have a plan on how I am going to achieve my goals. As for me - I am going to limit eating out to only one day a week.

Hi Nicola and Carla -

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you about this.

Nicola - could you check your settings under 'Privacy' under the 'About Me' section when you login...you might have the setting turned on to hide your profile from everyone.

Please let us know if that helps!

Would it be possible to go to a location where you can take your dogs off the leash and they can run ahead of you?

Hi Natalie,

Good to hear that you're looking to get in shape - good luck!

Don't worry about being a morning runner - I hate running in the morning as well. I usually go right after work - about 6 or 7pm. By then, it's much cooler and there isn't as much foot traffic along the Charles River (where I run).

Your dogs sound wonderful. Does Abigail get really excited about running with you? Perhaps once she starts getting really excited about running, she can act as your alarm clock - to help you become a morning runner (if that's going to ever happen - I have the same goal, but it's never worked out for me so I am now content with my "evening runner" status. ).

Hi All,

I hope everyone had a good Fourth of July (particularly if you are in the States). The fireworks display was beautiful, despite the rain, in Boston.

I wanted to make a post to update everyone on the status of their Spread traineo packages. Currently a number of them have already been posted. If you have not received your yet, yours will be shipped shortly. We are currently waiting for a new batch of postcards to come in, which should be in the next few days.

Thanks for your continued support.

Quiz: What kind of dog would you be?

While doing a little research on the internet, I came across this great quiz.

What kind of dog would you be?

The suggested that I would be a Saint Bernard - which I'm happy with.

An important point I want to make for this Traineo group is that the distances I'm riding do not all lead to weight loss. In fact, your available and stored calories will only get you 50 to 60 miles on a bike at most before you run out. So, to ride longer, you have to eat to supply additional calories. One rider on the America by Bike transcontinental ride of May 2007 claims he gained 10 pounds in spite of over 100 miles per day.

Hi Keith,

Thanks for the post. Wow - I didn't realize that gaining weight could be possible when you're on a bike for so many hours a day. It seems almost too crazy to believe.

How much do you have to eat to keep your energy stores up? Also, what types of food do you eat, i.e. whatever you'd like or do you try to keep it healthy?

Good luck on this trip!!!

I have been following this thread and I'd like to step in and apologize on behalf of the traineo community to the members who've been hurt by some of the comments in the discussion.

Our intention is to build a community to help people reach their fitness goals whatever they might be...whether it's trying to run a 4-min mile or simply receiving some support to pursue a new exercise regime, traineo's goal is to provide a positive forum for support for every member.

We would like to publicly ask the members who have made abusive comments directed at other members to kindly refrain from doing so in the future. We take such comments directed at other members very seriously and in an effort to keep this a safe and friendly environment for other members we will be monitoring further discussions accordingly.

Thank you all for your support and cooperation!

I study Advertising here in Brazil, and I'm currently doing paperwork and some other things, like institutional advertisements and events, and I took traineo as my subject.

My friend joined traineo out of excitement and I felt happy to be able to bring her along.

Me and my colleagues are discussing some way to bring traineo to Brazil too. At least it's an idea...

sorry for the bad english.

Hi Marianna-

There is a Brazillian group that you might be interested in checking out. From the looks of it - there are a lot of Brazillians in there. It would be great if you can help liven the group a little.
