I agree with Angie - Zone bars are a life saver for me! They are approx 200 calories but they really stay with you and keep you satisfied - and the dark chocolate ones are delicious. I get them for 69 cents each at a store in Delaware. The Acme carries them for $1.59 each. Anyway, I use them as a meal replacement and get terrific results - they are chock full of nutrients! The most important thing is to burn more calories than you consume. So keeping track of that is very helpful. You may find you won't be hungry at all! Good luck - you can do it!! And just remember there is no reason ever to give up. If you have a bad day, you go right back to it the next!

Marc - He used manipulation - everything below my waist as well as my feet and ankles (kind of like almost yanking me off the table). Then I would get an ultrasound where they moved this wand over each of your feet. I don't know what activtor is??

Marc,

I suffered from PF 3 years ago when I was 90 pounds heavier. It was so bad in both feet that I went to a podiatrist. They wanted to do surgery. I asked if I could do physical therapay first instead. They said OK. So they sent me off with an air cast for my one foot and these boots I had to sleep in at night. So I did some reasearch. I know a woman that works at a chiropractor's office (she is also a fitness trainer). She said there is a Doc at her office that specializes in sports injuries and that PF was a common thing. So off I went! He adjusted my lower body including my feet for about a month. I also had ultrasound done to both of my feet. This kind of breaks up the calcium deposits. PF is never really cured. But the most valuable thing I learned is to stretch twice a day! I still do it. Stretch your calf muscules - let your heels hang over a stair step or stretch each foot by extending your leg behind you (basic stretch). So no surgery and I rarely have a problem with pain. I do kickboxing, eliptical, treadmill, bike, run. I know some people don't believe in chiropractors but this doc was a godsend!

'Never let what you can't do get in the way of what you can'

I love this quote Dean! I've had it on my white board at work for the past month. I recently changed it to "The only limits are the limits you set for yourself"! Another one of your quotes I stole shamelessly.....

Although this site is great for motivation, I constantly feel the need to find motivation from within myself. Just the fact that I have control over my mind, body and soul give me a feeling of power, control and self worth.

The stronger I am mentally and physically makes me a better person not only to myself but to my friends and family as well.

I did my initial test and did 22 pushups. I'm psyched about this challenge!! I would strongly suggest NOT doing girl pushups. You will never get stronger that way! Trust me... 2 years ago I couldn't even do 1 pushup. Now I can do 22 in a row! I never once did girl pushups. They are hard - no doubt about it! But this is the one exercise that strengthens your arms, chest abs and back!!

It sounds to me you know the answer to your own question but are trying to rationalize eating something that isn't so good for you. I'd give your parents a list of foods to buy for you when they go to the store (this isn't the first time you have mentioned living at home and your lack of food choices). You have the knowledge of what you should and shouldn't eat. If you have to eat fried potatoes then eat a small portion - definately don't make it your main meal.

A really good way to strengthen your wrists and arms in to lay down on the floor and toss a medicine ball over your chest. Just toss it enough for it to leave your hands. Do this with control. Use a 10 to 12 pound medicine ball.

I like low-fat tortilla chips and salsa! Also, boiled chicken fills me up and satisfies. When I'm in a bind or have a hectic schedule I'll eat a Kashi protein bar - these things really stay with you and keep you satisfied.

There are proceedures for taking off lose skin

Shawn - I hear ya. I can live with the little bit of body extra skin but I don't know about the boobs. My doctor says I'm a perfect candidate for a boob job - to make me more in proportion. I'm considering it...I worked so hard to loose the weight...so I dunno...

Very good comments here - if nothing else, very encouraging! Gives motivation to keep on going....lowering body fat. I do think that everyone's body handles weight loss differently. For instance, a friend of mine lost 80 pounds and her breasts were not affected. Mine on the other hand are a different story. And the leaner I get the saggier they get. I've developed chest muscles above my breasts (a shelf, if you will). It's hard to describe but no amount of exercise is going to correct this loose skin, wrinkle affect short of a boob job. Ughhh

I am 44 years old and have lost 90 pounds in 2 years. I did it slowly thru diet and exercise. I have loose skin on my stomach and inner thighs. The rest of my body is very tone and athletic. My body fat % and BMI is where it is supposed to be. So I do believe for me it is and age-related, elasticity of the skin issue. Just my experience. I think everyone is different.

I decided to Google myself this morning. On the 1st page of results, there was a link to a post I made in Traineo.... Uh Oh, I don't think I want my personal info out there for the world to see. Is this supposed to happen or are the posts made in Traineo supposed to stay in Traineo? Anyone else notice this? Diane
