I have the purpose driven life also but haven't started it yet. How far have you gotten in that?

Do any of you do sudoku? I have become an addict recently. Today I burned over 300 calories while doing sudoku on my exercise bike. Not bad I say!

Wow, it's nice to see some people posting in here. Sorry it took me so long to notice. I just started reading "The grey beginning" by Barbara Michaels. It's an old one I found at a used book store. It looked really good but it's been a slow start. Maybe it will pick up here soon. After That I'm reading "Feather Man" by Rhyll McMaster.
Joanne, I'm always glad to meet a fellow mystery reading. I love john connolly although I haven't read that one yet. Let me know what you thought of it. Brandon, my son liked the dark Tower series and my husband likes King books. I guess I'm a chicken and can't handle the spooky stuff. |

Hey Bre, nice to see you posting! I just recently had my husband move my stationary bike into the living room because it's darn cold in the garage sometimes. I use it a lot more now. Would you believe I was going so fast the other day that I broke the strap that goes over your foot to keep you from flying away LOL My foot went flying off and my heel banged into the other peddle. OUCH! Just my luck that I'd get hurt on a bike that doesn't even move!
Well good luck on your exercising. Be careful LOL |

Book #2
Booklovers Anonymous |
Okay, so I ended up cheating. I wasn't feeling too hot this weekend. I overdid it doing the the stairs and the the stationary bike every night. I knew I needed to break it up with workouts involving different muscle groups but I guess this is what is easy for me. This weekend I was so sore I could hardly move! I ended up spraying some sore muscle stuff on my legs and finishing that last book I was reading (Bookends). So I'm not counting that book now..... This week I'm starting a book called Murder on the Iditerod Trail by Sue Henry. It looks like a good book and it's about Alaska too. It's funny when it's talking about the start of it on 4th Avenue in the city I live in. I've been there to watch it myself before. Anyway, I'm starting off slow so I only went 6 miles and burned 159 calories. I need ot check my batteries though. The bike lost my time and calories burned twice so that is not counting the first two starts.......still I think I burned more calories than that doing 6 miles and I was sweating! I made sure and kept my heart rate up this time..... Tomorrow though I think I'll do some floor exercises to work other areas for a change.

Okay, so the book passed the Donna test LOL I am on Chapter 11 now and I'm making myself go to bed so I wont have to drag my body around tomorrow and prop my eyelids open with toothpicks. I burned 560ish calories!!!!!!!! This book is actually pretty cute and it's freaking me out. I've always been a tom boy type and now I'm reading girlie girl books and listening to fergie. Lord save me.

I think those count! That's great! It would be fun to have our own bookclub! I just did the librarything.com deal and it was fun putting my books on there. I wonder if we could create a bookclub thing with that website? There is a group on there called first reviewers were you can get a chance at a free copy of a book before it's available to the public. They just put some up last month and I hope I get some of them! You should check it out.
Well, I just went to a wellness check at the hospital where I work. They do those for free for employees so I figured I would take advantage of it. So now I know I'm 37% fat YUCK! And I'm very well hydrated LOL I think they said I'm 78% water. I'm so tired though, I can't even think right now.........except that that comes to more than 100% LOL I'll have to go over all the papers they gave me later to make better since of it but I am definitely ready to work out. They talked to me about the proper way to lift weights to get the best workout and without hurting myself and I'm ready to lose this weight! Mainly the part in the middle!!!!! I hate having this belly! It's just not sexy at all LOL |

I just finished my first book, which about Alaska. Can you still hear me panting because I refused to stop until I finished this time. I really enjoyed that book. I have another book by the same author about some of the same characters only it's a mystery!! Whoo hoo! My favorite genre! However, I decided to read this crazy book that's been hanging around my house too long and finally decided whether I love it or hate it......and then get rid of it! So I'm reading Bookends by Jane Green http://www.librarything.com/work/23809/book/253063 05
Anyone have any opinions about this one?? I'm thinking it's one of those girl books that might not pass the Donna test. If I can't make it through the first couple of chapters I'll chuck it. Oh hey, did I mention I've lost 2.5 lbs so far? :O) |

This is harder than I expected LOL

This past few days I haven't been feeling well so I stayed in bed most of Saturday and you KNOW I wanted to finish that book I've been reading! I didn't do it though. Instead I sorted through stuff in my room to keep my brain busy. Today I think I'll do just a little while on the bike because I'm dying to find out what happens next LOL This book I'm reading is really a quick read but I've only been reading during the slower parts of the programs in my bike. Sometimes it's too fast to be able to read. I'm hoping I'll get through my books faster as I get in better shape.

So I've burned over 1200 calories so far on this book. I went 25 miles yesterday. Check out this site http://www.librarything.com/work/4602979/book/2487 7491

I, Donna, do solemnly swear...
that I WILL NOT read AT ALL unless I am somehow exercising something other than my brain or eyes. I am determined to lose 20 pounds in the next year (ending date - 1/1/09) and to do that I have to stop sitting around reading all the time so I will ONLY read if I am burning calories. I wonder how many calories a book is worth? How many books will it take to lose 20 pounds????? Stay tuned to find out! |

Hello from Alaska
Introduce yourself! |
My name is Donna, I'm 35 and my goal is to lose 21 lbs before my anniversary in September, although I'd be happy with anything at this point. I always loose a few and then gain them back. The thing I like best about Traineo is the logs for tracking. Logging your exercise and calories helps to keep your eye on your goal. I'm not big on exercise but I've set a goal of at least 30 minutes on my stationary bike 3 times a week. So far I've been doing more. Well good luck to everyone here!

Love the buttons. I just added one and deleted my other crappy tracker.

Me too, me too. I don't belong to a gym but I walk a lot and a Tshirt would be be great advertisement. I'd be willing to put up flyers and stuff along the way too. I'm all for it.
