CARBS - I'm Confuzzled
Diet & Nutrition Tips
|

Depending on what carbs you're talking about, people weren't "designed" to eat some of them. Good carbs like most veggies & fruits. Not so much grains and refined items. If you pay attention to clean eating you don't have to "count" carbs in a traditional manner.
Good Luck!

I just purchased my first pair of vibram kso's. I plan on wearing them to work (I'm on my feet all day) and to run in. I don't run because of the pain it causes my knees & shins, I'm hoping this cures it! Glad you're liking them so far!

The only thing I liked at BK was the "angry whopper" with fried onion rings & jalepenos on it, luckily for my waist, they discontinued it

This way of eating makes sense to me; both biologically and mentally.
Humans were "designed" to eat a certain way; everything pre-packaged and filled with crap was not the way. Neither were grains.
Grains are healthier if fermented, but they're still not an optimal nutritional choice.
Nutrition is always based on a sliding scale; the optimal things to eat all the way down to garbage. Each diet just has a different version of "optimal".
I don't eat a lot of grains to begin with, so I don't find eating this way much of a "loss".

Maybe some people are confusing ketosis with ketoacidosis?
Either way, your kidneys and heart both prefer to run on energy from ketones over energy from glucose. Everytime you metabolize fat, whether from pork rinds or your spare tire, your body produces ketones. You just produce more of them (obviously) when your body is mostly metabolizing fat, as in zero carb or really low carb.
The "side effects" of eating really low carb aren't really side effects but you're body becoming more efficient at using mostly ketones for energy. Eventually your body adjusts and the brain fog/bad breath etc. go away
All that said, I don't follow extremely low carb or zero carb because it's damn boring and I really enjoy veggies and fruit

Mayonnaise

I'm looking at my jar of Hellman's Olive Oil mayo now and it has in this order; canola & olive oils, water, liquid whole egg, vinegar, liquid yolk, salt, sugar, spices, lemon juice and calcium disodium edta.
All are "normal" ingredients except the edta which is a preservative.
I'm also not sure if this is just because I'm eating "Canadian" mayo?

I love smoothies, but I use Salba instead of Flax. More benefits in a smaller serving. Also, when it's in liquid, it "inflates" a little like tapioca which makes it great in yogurt!

Hi,
I just looked at the nutritional info for 2 scoops of Body Fortress and it doesn't have any hidden calories. I'm guessing the guy didn't know what he was talking about. It's high protein, low-carb, low fat. It's not a bulk-stack type of powder, maybe that's what he was thinking?
Anyway, good luck with the program!

Yeah, it's the same woman. And she does look older; happens to all of us every year ;) She's 32 or was at the time of the show.
Here's her "milk" ad.
I can't see how you would think she could have anything extra under that tanktop, it's pretty fitting. I also thinks she's pretty, but more important, HEALTHY.

They're built like balconette style bras instead of regular bras. So instead of pushing the girls in, they push them straight up from the bottom and put them where they would be if there was no gravity, LOL!

University of Aberdeen, Scotland study published in Medicine and Science in Sport and Exercise in 1997: Men rode stationary bicycles in 70-degree F, 52-degree F and 39-degree F conditions, dressed only in shorts, socks and shoes. The result? After 75-minutes, energy expenditure was almost 30 percent greater at the lowest temperature compared to the highest.

Specific spot training is rarely successful. I think to achieve the maximum benefit, you should look into a program like www.stronglifts.com 5x5 program. They have videos and instructions on all the exercises
Generally, you should do your cardio AFTER you weight train.
Good Luck

You need more protein. You should try to have some at every meal. Breakfast isn't too bad, but if you can, replace Weetbix with Fiber One and have a side with some egg whites.
Snack; berries & cottage cheese would be my choice over an apple.
Lunch; you would be better off if you made yourself a dish with chicken or fish and fresh veggies over a big eat.
Dinner; Same as lunch
And I agree with Rachael, you're going to lose a lot more fat doing intervals over just walking.

I think you need take measurements instead, probably more accurate then a sort-of the same aligned picture.
I also think that you've dabbled in a lot of different routines and if you picked one to go balls-to-the-wall with for a month and checked back in a month, you would see a difference in measurements.
I also think that traineo is a great resource and so long as you have feet to run and a body to lift, you have all the resources you need
