I'm a Cardio Coach Ambassador Now!!
Take the Cardio Coach Challenge
Posted: March 28, 2010
I've been using Cardio Coach for over 5 years now. CC, for those who don't know, is an extremely motivating, well designed and extremely well cued and coached MP3 series of audio programs that you work out to. There are 8 different volumes, each designed to be used on the cardio equipment of your choice (treadmill, bike, elliptical, etc) and that can be adapted to running or biking outside, that provides motivation and interval training. The website is cardiocoach.com

When the Cardio Coach folks started an ambassador program last month, I volunteered to become one, since I've been telling folks about CC for years now, anyway. The benefit of my doing this is that I now can let my friends, including my Traineo friends, download Cardio Coach volume 1 for free. Further, if anyone decides they want to buy other CC workouts, I was given a discount code for that purpose. However there is no obligation to ever buy anything, and you won't be asked for a credit card for the free download. Plus my friends can now see me on the Ambassadors page of the CC website: http://www.cardiocoach.com/amb_andrea_r.php

I've tried LOTS of workout audio programs in the past (iTrain, My Treadmill Trainer, Podfitness, podcasts on iTunes, Jeff Galloway tapes) and Cardio Coach is by far the best I've ever used. Over the years, I've purchased all 8 volumes (and given them as gifts) and have never gotten tired of using them. I've also seen measurable improvement in my stamina and fitness from using them over the years. CC was one of the first tools I went back to in August (pre-running), when I decided I had to lose weight and get back in shape. I still use one of my CC tapes at least once a week.

There's lots more information on the CC website. And I'd be happy to answer any questions.

To get Volume 1 for free, use the code "andreafree".

To get a 15% discount on any other volume, use the code "sfbayou"

Hi Everyone,

First, thanks for Russ & Jeff for using my motto as the quote of the week (Progress not Perfection) 2 shows ago and also quoting from one of my blog posts on the show before that. What a thrill to hear that when I was listening to F2F when taking a walk!

This made me think about how I use my Mp3 player to keep me motivated at exercise, which many of us do. Besides listening to Russ & Jeff (and some other podcasts), I’ve also been using Cardio Coach workout tapes to get moving for over 5 years now. CC, for those who don’t know, is an extremely motivating, well designed and extremely well cued and coached MP3 series of audio programs that you work out to, based on interval training. There are 8 different volumes, each designed to be used on the cardio equipment of your choice (treadmill, bike, elliptical, etc) and that can be adapted to running or biking outside, that provides motivation and interval training. If you try CC, I think you will really like the tapes. Sean O’Malley’s coaching is impeccably timed & very motivating. When I first got these tapes, I went from tolerating cardio & watching the clock, to looking forward to my sessions and wanting to do them every day (altho the instructions say you need skip a day between them). After over 5 years using them, I still find the time flies by when I listen to them.

The workouts get progressively more challenging, as the volume numbers go up (because the intervals get longer as well as length of the entire workout). But with all the volumes, you still work at your own level of perceived exertion (or use a heart rate monitor, which is what I do).

For treadmills & walking/jogging out outside, my favorite volumes are v2, 3 & 5. My favorite volume for running outside is V7, if you are already an experienced runner.

There’s lots more information on the CC website. And I’d be happy to answer any questions.

What do you do after a very bad week?

Boy, I must be doing better than I realized. I can't remember the last time I had an entire bad week. At most I might have a bad meal or two. But the main thing is to not dwell on it, and at the first opportunity you can, just get back on track. Don't beat yourself up. Just start again. Go for a walk. Drink some green tea or water. My motto is 'progress not perfection'. Try to learn from the experience and move on.

Motivation to Move has 2 on iTunes: The Fitness Boost & The Daily Break, that I like. The podcaster is a little goofy, but I enjoy his humor and he has good tips.

I also just started listening to

Major NSV today. I went to see my doctor today for some blood tests and brought her the blood pressure logs I'd been keeping since the beginning of August, when she put me on medication to lower my blood pressure. The next day I started on my weight loss/fitness journey. At the time she told me to come back in mid-January for a follow-up and maybe she'd be able to take me off meds then if I exercised and lost weight. Anyway, when she saw my results (16 pounds down, daily exercise, blood pressure on a continuing downward trend), she told me to cut my dosage in half for a week, and then go off the meds on day 8! I have another checkup in 2 weeks to make sure my blood pressure is ok off the meds, but meantime I am just THRILLED. I could only go on faith back in August that my lifestyle changes would allow me to get off the blood pressure meds by January, but to get off by the end of November... I am really happy!

Hi. I'm Andrea. I listened to Fat2Fit the 1st season, and then forgot about it when they took their first summer break. (I also forgot about taking care of myself, but that's another story.). Anyway, I started listening again in August and have been catching up on past episodes. What Russ & Jeff say makes a lot of sense to me. I listen to the podcasts daily as I walk or jog before work each morning.

I'm 58 year old, living in SW Louisiana, have lost about 12 pounds since August. I'm on week 7 of my Couch To 5K running program, and have my 2nd 5K coming up on Nov. 7. (I walked the 1st one about 5-6 weeks ago). My headaches and acid reflux problems have disappeared since I cleaned up my diet and started eating healthier foods. I still slip up now and then, but usually by the next meal I am back on track.

I've been blogging on Sparkpeople (arubinst) about my new lifestyle (the challenges and rewards), if anyone wants to find me there.
