That's awesome^^ Let's hope more states follow suit. The article mentioned making an after school program for it, for those, like me, who are not into the whole joining the basketball or football team and stuff. I hope their research works and it becomes contaigious to other states.

That's the beauty of the Wii, it's simple and easy to use. Designed around the casual, non-hardcore gamer. It's a good distraction and if you have little time to play games, then the Wii is for you^^

bah^^ my post got beat by 2 minutes^^
Welcome.

Hey there, nice to meet you all.

Well I decided to join this group because I am starting to try and use the game as a Excersice Alternative.

I am still pretty much a noob at the game, but practice makes perfect^^
How good are you?

Well since this is a DDR group I figured I would try to make a topic where you can tell us how much of a geeky, dancing, excercise addicted, social reject j/k, you are^^

In Dance Dance Revolution people rate their skill by 'Foot' If you notice when choosing difficulties it rates from 1-10 and uses the picture of a foot.

To consider youself a certain skill level you must have, lets say, 5 'A's on that 'foot' of rating. remember 1-10

I will start:

I am a Very comfortable 3, Getting very close to 4
How long have you been DDR-ing?

I have played DDR of and on for the last 4 years. i play it once in a while at the arcade, and a few times when my friend got the game. I got a fairly high end dance pad from an anime convention thinking I would play. But I never really did. So i gave it to a friend who played it more.

Howver I now regret that decision. I am currently in Kuwait but I have a fair amount of time on my hands and I am tryingto start playing it as often as I can. I finally got over being clumsy in the game, I am not any good by any means. but I am alot better than I was the first time I played.

I own Supernova, It's lots of fun. It has everything from the old games. Game mode lets you play any song, you can split the songs up by whether they qualify as easy, medium or hard. And then you can further adjust the difficulty of each individual song as usual.

Supernova introduces Stellar Mode where you go on this 'Campaign' mode. You go to different planets and you have objectives to complete to unlock VIP cards. Which let you progress further in the game.

the main BAD thing is that you don't get to choose a 'Avatar' that dances on screen for you. It randomizes between an avatar dancing or a music video.
Pad suggestions.

It all depends on how much money you are willing to spend.

If you are willing to spend 400 bucks you can go get one of those Metal pads like at the arcade. VERY high durability but expensive.

Less then that, I have a pad I bought for about $75 that comes with 6 foam pads that you can take in and out of the pad itself.

For endurance I recommend anything that comes with foam you can take in and out. The ones with no foam, are to thin and get ruined to quickly.

You can find these pads at conventions or on ebay, or amazon or any of those places

Hi, I am from California and I am in the National Guard. I am currently stationed in Kuwait. I have never really been much of an excersice enthusiast. I prefer video games^^. However, I have grown unsatisfied with my current lifestyle and seek to improve myself. I currently weigh 170 and plan to get down to 160. I have not passed my fitness test in like 2 years. I have several motivating factors, such as a promotion, improving my appearance for my girlfriend back home, and just raising my self esteem in general.

I also have a 'Personal Trainer' over here, which is pretty cool.

So yeah, that's me.

Also, anyone wanna be a motivator for me?

let me know and I will add you, I don't have any at the moment.
