Tanita Body Fat Scales
Off-Topic & General Chat |
I use the logs on here to track fat as it gives me a graph (which is currently going the right direction!) so it's an added motivator.
Thanks Jem for the info on Judd I'm just off to see the website. |

Adding a body fat chart
Website Support |
I have scales that measure body fat. I have read that the key to successfully losing weight is to lose body fat, therefore I thought it would be a good idea to add a body fat chart for those that can track it.

Tanita Body Fat Scales
Off-Topic & General Chat |
I've had these for a year now and my body fat has more or less stayed the same despite going to the gym 3x a week and playing the odd game of tennis each week. I'm 43 and a whopping (according to the scales) 36% fat. I'm a size 10/12 jeans, weigh 11st 4 and am 5ft 7 so not grossly overweight. Anyone else out there supposedly carry so much fat?

Anyone tried The Bean?
Exercise & Training Tips |
Anyone tried The Bean? It's a bean shaped inflatable to target abs. I've been using it for a few days and it's good. I can feel my abs the next day which hardly ever happens. It's comfortable to do as your off the floor and on an inflatable basically. Just wondered if anyone else had tried it.
It's avaible from JJB sports so you can check out their website. |

Surprise!!!
Motivation Tips |
Such a great feeling - I love squeezing into size 10 (that's US size 6 I think) jeans but I don't always make it and have to buy size 12. I then feel depressed for a while that I'm a '12' more often than not!

11st 4, 5ft 7 but NOT fat !
Introduce yourself! |
I am incorporating some weights now as I've read somewhere that adding muscle helps to burn weight. I think I have been training too hard - for example I train at quite a high heart rate and I've also read that to burn fat you should have a really low heart rate (for my age around 120) but when I train at that sort of level it feels like I'm doing nothing.

11st 4, 5ft 7 but NOT fat !
Introduce yourself! |
Thanks for your reply Vern - this is the first post I've done on here.
I have scales that measure body fat (bf) and judging by them I am 36% body fat which is scary and depressing since no matter how much I go to the gym I don't seem to shift much body fat and my weight just doesn't go down either. I go to the gym about 3 times a week and do the treadmill, cross trainer and the bike as well as a few weights. My attempts at losing weight this year have been an absolute failure and the weight just seems to be creeping on slowly. |

11st 4, 5ft 7 but NOT fat !
Introduce yourself! |
Hi Everyone
I've joined because I'm 43, 5ft 7 and weigh 11stone 4 but I'm not fat!! I wear size 10 jeans (that's a size 6 I think US size) for example. Yet everyone seems to weigh less than me and my BMI says that I'm just about in the 'OK' range. Yes I would like to be a little silmmer I admit but does anyone else out there weigh 'heavy' and thinks that some of the weight charts must be wrong. |
