I am REALLY struggling with food right now!

I got back into the fitness thing very easily. I wasn't as out of shape as I thought i was! For the past few days I have been running, hiking, lifting, etc, just like the old fit Rosie!I even started an hour-long power walk after dinner, just so I wouldn't be sitting there sad and all alone. I go out in the city and see all the people, very therapeutic.

But I come home alone and eat.

I just look at the art supplies that I should be using, but I go on facebook and shove trail mix and popcorn in my face!

I know that on one can do this for me. I have to dig down and find my lost willpower. I actually think this might be about guilt. I might be punishing myself for leaving my husband.

It's tough. Thanks for listening, Guys...

A friend of mine suggested I start drawing again to fill the lonely evenings when I'm not out dancing. I bought the supplies, and I'm going to do it! Is there an old hobby that you can rediscover?

Good, thanks, Sandra. I pounded the pavement, which is not as easy on my 42-year-old back as the trails I used to run, but it felt good. I ran up and down the stairs at the college down the road instead of my beloved hills, but heck, I DID IT!

evelyn, I hear you, girl.
I'm making progress, though.
Yesterday I did a vigorous hike in the morning, and danced in the evening. I still came home and binged! I think it was coming home alone that did it.
But I'm back in the game this morning. I have my running clothes on, and as soon as I'm done with this, I'm out the door.
Let's leave yesterday behind us, OK?
We can do this...

At the start of each day traineo tells me "1087 Calories left in daily budget." That's not enough for me. Why can't I set my own calorie allowance on traineo? I should get at least 1400 per day to be healthy. Any help? Maybe I just don't know how to do it.

Try walking, NotHunter. If you put music on and walk, you'll walk with the beat without noticing, before you know it, you're sweating. It's great exercise.

I can't answer that, John. No, my dog is at home in his comfy house with big yard to run in. I am adjusting to living in a tiny apartment in the city far from my lovely running trails...
But today is a new start. Now that I live in the middle of the city I don't have to drive where I need to go. So my first step back to health is to walk everywhere I need to go today.
Sasha, I'm sorry I hijacked your post. I was inebriated last night. That stops now, too...

My whole life has changed. I left my husband. I am in a little apartment all by myself. My running is gone. My motivation is gone. All I want to do is sit and eat. Help me...

I was doing so well...

I used to get that, so switched to epilating instead of shaving. Worked a treat and hardly ever have to shave/epilate now.

Great tip, Alix! I'm going to look into that.

1. Dance 5 hours Saturday

2. Strength train Sunday before the Mother's Day festivities. Then NOT pig out on ribs!

Triumphant success on all counts! Even counted my calories while eating my ribs! YES!
Feeling slim! Saw an Aunt I haven't seen in ages at the Mother's Day party, She said I have "dancer's legs!" and she didn't even know about my dancing obsession!

Welcome, Eva!

What I swear by is using an online bmr calculator, then using the internet to religiously track my calories. Doing this, plus running and dancing has me in the best shape of my life at 42 years old. The weight came off with just the calorie counting. The activity is keeping it off, going on 3 years now.

Good luck!

It's true, she's very nice!

Iris, you don't sound blunt, just helpful. We all agree that Emily's cals are too low to be healthy.

Hi Emily,

I also can't go below 1600 cals without getting too hungry, so I just up my exercise, now I'm up to 2000 because of doing so much moving. The funny thing is, the more I move, the less i want to eat! With the workouts you do, I think 1200 is way too low for you. For example, I am only 5'1", workout every day, and i can maintain my 120 pounds at 2000 calories. I used to weigh 160. I never ever ate below 1600, and I ended up 40 pounds lighter.

At night I eat 100 calories of air-popped corn, it fills me up without going over my budget.

Good luck to you!

Hi Jenny,

I know I have an unpopular opinion about this, but my take is that women try to do too much. We put too much in our baskets, and they overflow, or they're too heavy to carry.

We can't be healthy if we are stressed out and over worked.

Time to prioritize!

That's my 2 cents.

Good luck!

Well, Iris, I think you are too young for menopause.
You have changed jobs recently, are you working closely with other women? your cycle is probably matching theirs. This happens to me every Fall when I come back to work after summer break and sinc up with the other teachers at school. It's very strange, but it's true!

HI WARRIORS!
I'm back!
Utah was awesome! A Navajo kid tried to hit on me! I had to show him my wedding ring and let him know I'm old enough to be his mama, but it was VERY flattering!
Feeling great about my body, even though I gained a couple of pounds. Ran almost every day!

Now for my goals,

1. Dance my a@@ off Saturday
2. run Sunday
3. No junk
