My experience so far with Wii Fit

I've unlocked all the Yoga poses now.

The last three don't have any measurements to them, you just do them as instructed and get tokens when you are done. No balance check.

I've also unlocked the push-up challenge, but haven't tried it yet.

The push-up and plank twist is still an issue with me, because it always ends before I do. I can't see the screen, so I don't know when I am supposed to do what. I guess I should just speed up my pace.

Oh, and the one strength move that has you pointing the remote to the ceiling while you lie down and get up with one hand makes me feel even more like an fat old man.

I wish you could just link a bunch of the yoga poses together and go from one to the next without having to see the rankings and such.

BTW, the Bubble game in the Balance Games is a lot of fun to me. I pretend I'm flying. I guess it's something I remember doing a lot when I was a kid.

Has anybody learned the secret yet to long ski jumps?

Keep the red dot in the blue dot.

Bend your knees a good deal so that it won't miss the up read.

Lean forward and don't sway.

I've only hit two past the lines.

I just finished my first WiiFit workout. I will probably be sore tomorrow.

I guess I should switch from the Wii Sports Wii Age to the Wii Fit Wii Age. Wii Sports has me at 26, which is up since the last time I check. Wii Fit has me at 46, which is 10 years older than I am. I have back issues and it makes me very stiff and shakey when I stand, so that contributes to the older age. But, I guess it's more accurate than the Wii Sports age.

I haven't tried for a longer jog yet. I am not a good runner, so I'll just have to build up to that.

I think Wii Fit is aimed at improving your core and helping out your posture.

As with the Wii Sports Wii Fit Age, I just use that data and put it on Traineo, to keep all the data in one place.

However, I can see someone coming out with a WiiWare application that could track all sorts of dieting measurements. I can see it automatically inputing Wii Sports and Wii Fit data.

Raving Rabbids is the best.

Here's the trailer that hints at 3 having a WiiFit option.

It's a little out of date.

Thanks.

Good luck getting a WiiFit now.

The GameStop I went to had 70 pre-orders. About a dozen people decided to not pick up their pre-orders, all those WiiFits were gone by morning. When I arrived at 4:30 pm to pick up the 2 I pre-ordered, they said they already had over 40 inquiries beyond the pre-orders.

I added 3 lbs wrist weights to boxing last night. It affected my punches a little. I only went one round with my neighbor, he lasted about 15 seconds. Then we did the heavy bag training. I got a lower score than usual. When I usually do the heavy bag, I repeat it a few times, so if I do that again with the wrist weights, I'm sure I'll notice even more of a change.

I also got WiiFit last night and played it for 30 minutes. I like the Yoga instruction. It said I'm a "little stiff". Which is sort of a laugh due to my back conditions. Anyway, the little amount I played was fun, addictive, and definitely worked some muscles and made me sweat.

Doing the boxing and tennis training are the best Wii Sports workouts.

Even the baseball home run derby is good for the abs muscles. You just have to switch back and forth from right to left handed to even things out.

Yep, sleep is very important.

You can even get too much sleep and cause problems. You can't store sleep, but some times you need to get extra to make up for lost sleep.

You can sit in a chair and play that one. Even standing I didn't come close to breaking a sweat.

i am preordering mine next week, when I have enough cash

I only put down $10 a piece.

I believe that using the WiiFit game will improve my motivation for doing other exercises. And because I can do it without having to drive 15 minutes to the gym, I will more likely play WiiFit on a regular basis.

Did anyone get this game? I can't find it anywhere by my house. I read some bad reviews, but I might buy if people insist it is a good workout game.

I would wait, I think there will be another boxing game coming out that uses the controls better.

i just did an hour of DDR hottest party with 10lb arm weights on, throwing my hands up like a cheerleader for -every- step. ...
Interesting. I really need to get my Hottest Party back out. Just haven't had the time for it lately.

Raymon Rabbids 2 comes out in November.

It is crazy funny and the multi-player is much better, with up to 4 players at the same time.

The is another boxing game out this month or next called Victorious Boxers that is a little harder than Wii Boxing.

When I get to the Pro level of Boxing on Wii Sports, they seem to block themselves better. I am getting my butt whooped lately.

Also, try turning your body when the arrows go to up and down. Instead of trying to step forward and backward.

I noticed last night that the dance pad is sensitive enough that I didn't have to lift my foot to do a double step.

Oh, I'm hoping to get better so I can up the difficulty level to make the workouts even more intense. I still want to get some ankle and wrist weights to help with the resistance on the Wii exercises.

After you get done practicing, try the Workout mode.

When you are in the Workout mode, don't do "Free Dance". The other options lets you pick dance "circuits" so it will go thru a slow, faster, faster, slow song without having to go through all of the steps of picking another song. There were a few choices before you got to the really hard ones.

I did about 20 minutes before I had to head out.
Suggestions for my routine?

I'll tell you my experience.

I was always a skinny bean poll of a kid. In college, thanks to a generous meal plan, I easily gained the Freshman 15. After I got out of college I got a job that had a lot more sitting down than the jobs I had in college. The job offered a gym membership at a discount price. For years I have been trying to get extra weight off. I have done things like only eat chicken, cut out french fries, and go for hours on a elliptical machines twice a day for weeks. I have back issues so, I didn't do much running. Okay that's the background.

When I tried a diet that included weight lifting, I finally lost the weight I wanted to lose. I could have lost more, but I chose to do more aerobic exercises than lifting. Work got me of my schedule, this and that happened and I let myself gain weight back. So, this time around,

So, I would suggest switching your running and lifting routines. Try 3 days of lifting and 2 days of running. 1 day of legs and your day of rest. The legs are your biggest muscles, they burn the most energy, which burns your fat.

I wouldn't do swimming. Great exercise, but you are already doing the treadmill. Do one or the other.

I would take 10 or 20 lbs dumbbell weights (depending on how much you think you can do) and lift them like you were doing a bench press. Using the hand weights you can lower the weights farther and it helps build different muscles.

Do 10 reps like a bench press.

Do 10 reps seated military press (sit straight up and push the weights up over your head)

Do 10 reps each arm bicep curl

Do 10 reps each leg lunge squat

That's a short circuit to get you started. Repeat rest 30 seconds between each one and do the circuit twice. When you get stronger you can increase the weight or the number of circuits.

Agreed, at a little bit of muscle training to your workout.

A little bit of free weights will help build muscles for balance and burn the fat.

but i think it's a bit of a stretch to say the government is responsible for fat people.

Nobody is saying that.

What we are saying is, take responsibility for yourself and don't look for answers from the government. For everything in life, you should look for the power within yourself to better yourself and your situation.

This site is good and all, but it still takes will power inside of yourself to exercise and eat healthy. Regardless of your situation it is all a matter of sacrifices and rewards. If you can't afford to shop at Whole Foods, it doesn't mean you have to buy a bag of Oreo's at Wal-Mart.

Nobody is going to help you more than you helping yourself. And nothing is more rewarding than meeting a goal by yourself.

I paid my way through college so that my parents could help out my other siblings; I'm the youngest of 6. I didn't eat ramen noodles, but I did budget my meals and didn't eat junk. I did work full time and take a full course load (18 hours). For one semester I even had a morning paper route, full course load and a full time job as a theater manager. Which means I worked 7 days of the week on the paper route and 6 days a week at the theater while taking classes 5 days a week. You'll note, that I didn't have a degree to get the management job, I worked hard at previous jobs, got promoted which allowed me to get management job.

Not to sound harsh, but maybe the mother should have thought about the consequences of getting pregnant and not being able to find a job that pays more than minimum wage. The only workers around here that get paid minimum wage or close to it our wait staff and that's what they get before tips.

It all goes back to responsibility for self. If you get yourself into a situation, get out of it by yourself or have your friends and family help you out. Don't expect my tax dollars or the government to solve your problems, they won't.
