I Can Make You Thin
Posted: March 29, 2008
Hello everyone,

Hope you all are doing well. I am going to be travelling for a few days, but will check in. We are leaving Florida and vacation mode and heading home for West Virginia.

I am going to begin journaling, keeping track of feelings, hunger levels, satiety, what is working, etc. This program is working for me and I am learning a great deal. Feel like writing it down will be helpful.

We started a ICMYT team at Spark People, if anyone is interested in another avenue of support. The url is:

How are you doing? This working for you?

Will check in later.....off to pack.

Let's hear about your successes. Kudos to Elle for her succcess in ordering and eating reasonably, accordng to her hunger, when she went out.

Twice now I've managed to eat less than 2 pieces of pizza. Ordinarily, I would have had 4. Usually pizza is a trigger food for me. Already rethinking "trigger" food. If I am being successful in eating according to my hunger, there is room for a trigger.

We can use this post to list our KUDOS. I'm sure there will be many. Off to KUDO!!!
WALKING

I feel that exercise is a vital part to my getting healthy. I've been walking for a few years, it is my exercise of choice. Can't do the running anymore, but love the walking.

Glad to see others moving it, too. Mike, great goal to climb Pikes Peak.

I journal my minutes and wear my ped every day. Anyone else keep track of steps/mins?

Don't mind having varying points of view. I've been on just about every diet plan out there. I take the good and leave what doesn't work for me. Customizing our own journey is a good thing. Right now, I am intriqued by Dr. McKenna's program.

It will become natural that the people who are working that particular program will stick around. Others will lose interest, but I do enjoy the interchange as long as they are reasonable and not putting people's ideas down in negative ways. Colin was a gentleman and certainly doesn't dampen my desire to keep going on my new journey. Thanks for all the input. It's great to know that there are others out there strivng to understand something new. We'll find our way to good health together.

Drat!! Me, too, thought it was pizza challenge time!!!!

Had pizza today, too. Managed to eat fairly slowly and ended up eating less than 2 pieces.

How did you do? Challenge? Let's do it....lol
1 week in, so far so good but no weight lost

Welcome.

The freedom from overeating and yet still eating what I want is worth it. Bound to be weight loss with eating less food. Ride it out. We can only benefit from this.

I know that we will be melting away. Our body needs only adjust. Patience is not a virture of an overeater....lol
What are your thoughts on emotional eating show?
I Can Make You Thin

I picked up lots of pointers on this show. The tapping technique was very interesting. I followed up by going to Dr. Gary Craig's site to learn more about the tapping exercise. You can join and get a free email starter kit, including details on doing tapping exercise.

Check it out:

Having tools to work this program is great. Was motivated by success stories. Emotional eating is my downfall.

Some things I picked up from the show:

- Smaller bites taste better.

- Compare yourself to yourself. "Do I feel better?"

- Use tapping exercise to change how you are feeling and to fight cravings.

Food just being food.....oh my...such a life-changing thought.
Slow start, but working it!

Hi, everyone,

I did well yesterday during the day. Was pleased at how little it took to fill me up. Awkward choosing "anything" I want to eat, but did it.

Now, for the bad news.....we went to a movie. I did manage to stop eating the popcorn halfway thru the bag. That led to stopping for milkshake....hubby's idea..on the way home. Did I protest? No....we are in vacation-mode, staying 2 months in Florida. Anyway, sugar got the best of me.

Today, not letting that get in my way. Eating from hunger. Going out to Easter buffet this evening...real test.

How are you all doing? What about dessers/sugar? My downfall. Sure they trigger binge eating. Hope he addresses sugar in programs.

Lorraine,

I'm a walker, too. Love my ipod.

I put on my pedometer when I wake up and try for 12,000 steps. Great motivator...wearing the pedom.

Off to check out that website....thanks.
How's it going?

Hello everyone,

How is it going? These first few days will be crucial to a strong foundation.

Mike, tried to make you a "Motivator," but it wouldn't let me Seems you have to say that you want to be motivator in your profile. Anyone else want to "motivate" each other. Mike, post at the Dr. McKenna site again about your creating this great place to hang out. Bet we get others who see the show.

I'll post my progress tomorrow...first day waking up to freedom from overeating.

Hope everyone is doing well. We will prevail.
Can changes really happen this fast, or is it just

Mike!!! Terrific!!

Slowing down and really listening to our bodies can and will bring amazing results and as you are seeing....amazing revelations.

I agree, making good food choices is important, too. I bet that as we progress, our bodies will naturally lead us to healthy foods. Mike, you were already tasting the oiliness of chips. Ummmmm....when we stuff food down...no taste. Seems we have to keep eating to try to get the "taste" we are seeking.

Lots of things to learn. Bring it on!!
Weigh-in

Hi,

Ummmmmm...weigh in....oh, the ugliness of it all. I tend to pay too much homage to the "scale god," so am going to have a few weeks of settling into the program before I weigh myself. Right now, feeling how my clothes fit and I feel will be enough.

Greetings everyone!

I'm brand new to traineo and also just watched Dr. McKenna's show. Love the concept of what I call "intuitive eating." I'm starting this very second.

Mike, so proud of you and others for jumping right in. What a great time for us to band together for support. We are all beginning right here, right now. WE CAN DO THIS!!

I am a "snowbird," retired from a demanding job on Cap Hill and loving retirement life. Writing you from sunny Florida now, but returning to wild and wonderful West Virginia soon. I'm Grammy to 2 wonderful grandbabes, Mom and wife. I lead a very busy life. I want to be in the best shape and health in this exciting phase of life....retirement.

Hope we can include exercising in our program I love to walk....any other walkers out there? Maybe we can track our progress and do some challenges.

I'm very excited about waking up in the morning and eating from hunger.....anything that I want. Isn't it totally freeing?!!! I'll post my progress....anyone else want to join me?

Again, Mike, thanks for giving us a place to hang out and get healthy together.

WE CAN DO THIS!!!!

Hello MIke and everyone,

Just watched Dr. McKenna.....love the concept. I've been a fan of what I call intuitive eating and have looked for a place to share that philosophy of eating healthy.

Many thanks, Mike, for starting this forum. I'm off to officially introduce myself. Can't wait to get to know everyone!
