Leslie
I understand and my story is similar---only I connected with fat 2 fit over a year ago.
One comment about points---I would always go way high on fiber--which was good for me, and that actually removes approximately 10 calories per gram of fiber when they calculate points---so if you are eating 30 grams of fiber a day---depending on different points (old points/new points)that is an additional 300 calories not counted in WW points
One of the main reasons that points work so well is it simplifies kcal counting--it was hard to think about 1800 kcals vs 23 points---and who wants to add 143 and 271? I am going to look into the app you mention--thanks for the tip!!

BMR/Kcal in/Kcal out, one more time

About that BMR
my current BMR at 190 lbs is 2055
I want to be 145 and that BMR is 1375
Aren't those the two numbers I should be playing with??
I thought I should take the BMR I WANT to be (145) and add workout Kcals to it to get my # of Kcals per day....
I did both of those with no activity---but I am a teacher who never sits all day, and working on increasing my actual workouts.
Thanks

So, my tool/toy
I have 'blender on a stick' hand blender.
And (big piece) I have a drink container (originally came with a spring inside to shake stuff up) that this blender fits in perfectly!!
These two tool make it easy for me to do a morning yogurt smoothie. Frozen raspberries, yogurt, flax seed, and maybe some mini chocolate chips....
I struggle with breakfast because I do not like eggs, and I am gluten free (NOT by choice), and I eat in my car because I have to be in my classroom by 6:45 am (but we get out at 2:10!) so most oatmeal, toast etc things do not work for me. And that drive thru 8000 kcal chocolate mocha caramel whip cream frappe latte coffee thing (with sprinkles) was GOOD, and I was not hungry till lunch, but I do not think it was the best choice for my calorie budget or my check book budget.

Thought I would try a thread:
I love the make 30 frozen meals ideas---as a teacher who packs that is great.
But what do people use in the kitchen that they feel makes a difference with their meal plan or prep or storage??

Tom
New to the group not to the Podcast!
For me, even as a terrible diet dr pepper aholic, drinking water, even water with crystal light or something, helps put me off.
And I try to keep my snacks high in fiber---what about an occasional high fiber/protein bar---does that help?
Just a thought

BMR/Kcal in/Kcal out, one more time

I am using MyNetDiary for Kcal recording.
When comparing that program and 'transferring' the info to Traineo I am getting somewhat confused.
I currently weight 190. I am a HS special ed teacher so I walk ALOT at school---sitting at a desk is a minor part of my job.
I have my BMR at 2055. My 145 BMR would be 1375. I had my target Kcal at 1570. Is this about right? I am adding 1 work out per week to get to 5 per week (I am at 2 currently). Walking 2 miles, or swimming 1 mile, med level yoga etc. Not adding weights or cycling yet.
PLEASE let me know your thoughts!!!
Peace

Hello!
My name is Amy and I am a huge fat2fit radio fan. I have joined Traineo because of hearing about it on fat2fit.
I am 47, married for 25 years, and have 4 children. I recently and happily went back to teaching and I am having a great time.
I have found on line support a positive for me and I hope to find some here!
Peace!!
