Wish me luck! Just starting and on day 3. I put on a ton of weight when my husband died. I'm sick of being heavy, not knowing what to wear, and being self-concious, and just feeling heavy. If this doesn't work, I'm getting the surgery...

Hi TC,
Very sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. I suspect a lot of us have gained our weight after extremely difficult situations emotionally like this.

I can't speak to weather this works or not, I expect that eating way too few calories will help you drop some pounds in a big hurry. I don't expect them to work as well as a slow steady journey to healthy living.

I think all diets are counting on you being a "regular person" who eats a ton of nutritionless carbs and high sodium foods that cause you lots of fluid retention, then they amaze you with the huge drop in weight you get once you are told the amazing information to avoid these high sodium things and drink way more water than you used to.

The bottom line is in my not very humble opinion: You don't need to give your hard earned cash to anyone but your local grocery store/market in order to succeed at weight loss.

I have had success from many programmes, but the only thing that really seems to work for the long haul is eating a normal amount of good whole foods.

You don't need to pay anyone to give you a shot, cut you open, put a zip tie on your belly or any of this nonsense. You need to eat good food, not crap, you need to eat normal amounts of it (not crazy high or low amounts) and you should (scaled to your experience and fitness level) work your body as it was intended to be used, move it around, move other stuff around with it, and make it part of your daily routine. As you get fitter, push yourself further and harder, and drink lots of water. Not because you don't know if you are hungry or thirsty but if you drink enough of it you might not drink other crap.

I'm pretty sure most of the success stories you will hear on this site are not people who are using ultra low calorie diets and "medically supervised injections"

If I'm out of line I'm sure my fellow trainiolies will call me on it.

This is definitely logical. I just need a huge jump start to feel better. I hope this does the trick. I think the hcg is making me a bit ill. I'm very tired. I'm going to give it 45 days, and see where I end up I so hope I can stick to this!!

Thanks again for your great advice:)
