Hi All,
I am unsure if I am allowed to link to a different forum but I found this massive thread (90 pages) very motivational and insiteful and wanted to share with you all that are trying to loss weight.
Sometimes I am unsure if I can be bothered making it to the gym, but I read some posts on this thread and it really gets me off my butt and in the front doors of the gym.

You have to shift through some chafe but it is well worth the time.
(I am kiwidave1 on BB.com if you want to see my progress to date)

Here is the title.
Were you treated differently after losing alot of weight?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those of you that have lost alot of weight tell me if people acted diff. towards you or if you noticed anyother changes with yourself.

Did you get more stares?

Did your genitals change in size?

Did you get negative or jealous reactions fromn friends/family?

Discuss

This is also a great site with tons of info on diet and exercise.

Have a great weekend all and keep up the fight!

Wow David,

That is a huge thread. I randomly read a number of pages and there is a ton of good stuff.

Some things just from page 1:
People dont look in my shopping cart anymore.
When I do work presentations/teaching I know longer worry about being judged first by my weight - that has a huge impact by the way - so much energy wasted by worrying.
I feel pain. You might find that an odd thing to say but when you have previously used food to smother dissapointment/lonlieness/insecurity you dont feel those things so much, though it brings a whole different set of cyclidic problems plus guilt/self condemnation.

There is actually some pretty deep stuff in there. I'm sure that everyone will be able to find some things that they will want to look forward to and find some motivation from here.

It is so amazing how differently you have to rewire your thinking after a big weight loss.
I lost a LOT of weight, simple tasks were challenging, like bending down, going up stairs, and i have to reprogram my brain to not dread little tasks like that anymore. Its tough, just one more thing to overcome, getting me out of my 'fat' brain, i know i've still got more to go, but i don't consider myself fat anymore, just a healthy guy who's trying to get healthier.
People look and treat me so differently now, i'm more outgoing, more social, i even strut around on particularly good days
And damn does it feel good to have women actually look at you, and smile, not with that 'HOLY CRAP HE'S BIG' smile
Not having to worry if the seat in the movie theater is big enough, or the booth at a restaurant, or even a chair, no more wondering if its going to fall apart on me when i sit in it.
Man i could go on all day, but i'm going to check out this bb.com thread

I've been through plenty of weight losses troughout my life (and yes - this will be the lasting one as it is my life changer and it is for myself).
I'm sad to say that people have treated me completely different at 40 or even 50 lbs less. And beside the fact that I might have had more self esteem Some people seemed to have noticed me for the first time AFTER losing weight.

The only people that has never treated me different are my kids and my husband.
