Use this thread to record any non-scale victories. It will help take away the focus on the numbers we see on the scale. Celebrate the little wins along the way!
Here are some of mine:
I now easily fit within a plane seat belt with a fair amount of belt to spare!
I now can put the meal tray down on a plane without it resting on my belly.
I have lost 4 dress sizes!
My son can easily fit his arms around me when he gives me a hug.
I can now sit next to an average sized person on public transport without my arse encroaching on their side.
An NSV I am looking forward to - going on an amusement park ride without the young pimply dude running the ride providing me with a warning that I may not fit on the ride!

Here's mine....
this past month I've lost 1/2 inch in neck and 1/2 inch in calves - strange places to lose inches but I'll take it.

Well, I have been doing 90 day challenge, and have lost 5 inches off my waist, but only 15 pounds after 66 days... I was aiming for 30+, that is not going to happen. However, due to intense cardio/weight routing, i probably lost more than 15 pounds of fat. I am RADICALLY stronger & my cardio capability is way up. I think when I am @ the end of the 90 days I will be moving from long interval HIIT to Tabata Intervals, which is exciting & terrifying at the same time.

John W,
Well Done, that is exactly what NSVs are all about, not focussing on the scales but celebrating our achievements that lead us to healthier lives.
OK here is a nice NSV for me. My BRA Size has changed from a 26EE to a 16E!!! Yay, that's 6 sizes smaller and 1 cup size smaller, what a weight off my shoulders - literally!!!

Congrats Sandra
The numbers are great sure nice, but best of all is the feeling of having your body change. What a relief! Good luck on your journey, and good topic too...

I keep track of slip-ups and turn them into a victory.
If I'm hungry or I'm in the middle of a social event where I'm tempted to eat, I'll have something to eat. If I eat the healthiest thing available and don't gorge on it - its a small victory.
(In the past, after the first bite my whole eating program would be out the window and it would take days to recover)

Ok Here is my latest NSV. I went to Adelaide for a five day trip. We are talking about food and wine country here! I admit I ate a few things I normally wouldn't, but in small portions and not too often. We tasted wines and also attended a wedding. I did ensure that I included up to an hour walk each day.
What I am proud of is that I am now back home and got straight back into my healthier regime. In the past a trip away would have been a major blow out, almost like an excuse to go crazy eating anything and everything, and almost every meal would have been take away. Then I would get back from my trip, feeling totally disgusted with myself and celebrate that fact by continuing with my poor eating habits.
So my NSV is that I survived a holiday without over indulging and ensured I included some daily exercise to counteract any little pleasure I allowed myself. Then got home feeling better about myself and looking forward to more weight loss.

Two people at work told me I was looking really good. I was shocked because I didn't feel like I was looking any better. It really helped my self-esteem and made me want to keep going and stay focused!

NSV's are so more real life, then crunching numbers.
I am happy to wear my clothes i last wore around 3-4 years ago. This makes me smile.
Like John W. - I am on a 90 days challenge. Ending Feb 22, 2009. Goal is to go from now 89 kg to 75 kg.
Only about one year ago I was up at 100 kg.
The last 14 kg's are all for getting my ex-girlfriend back.

Looks like nobody has replied here for a while...but why not!?
I had a non-scale victory today.
I began lifting weights and gave up less than half-way through the session and got on the elliptical trainer.
I finished the elliptical training session and then went on with my day.
Now here's the non-scale victory...a couple hours later I finished my weights set. I was glad I did!

Way to kick the thread back into gear!
Man i've got a lot to list...
Can see my feet!
went from 56" waist to 42", i can shop at normal stores and NOT pay extra for the big guy sizes at department stores.
5x to 2x / xl shirts
Increased time on the elliptical from 2 minutes to 45+ minutes at really high resistance
Attack staircases
I'm now smaller than a lot of people that i work with, poeple would call asking for the big guy, and they have to ask if it was the big guy a year ago or some other big guy!
Went from taking stairs a flight every minute, panting, sweating at the top, to attacking staircases, 2, 3 at a time, as fast as i can! Freakin stairs, for years i avoided you, but watch out, i'm comin!
People ask me, ME!!!!, for weight loss advice, diet tips, etc.
Um, gained inches, um, there and legs can wrap all the way around
Dropped shoe size cause i don't have to squeeze my huge feet into larger shoes anymore, went from 12 to 10!
