My coach recommended that I work out for 20 minutes in the morning before breakfast every day to get my metabolism high and then eat 6 times throughout the day to keep it high. So I'm trying to find an awesome work out DVD that is 20 to 30 minutes in length.

William recommends 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels. And it looks awesome, except that the background music is really annoying. Plus I'd really just like to compare a few before I purchase. So anybody else have any recommendations?

I think the background music on all of them pretty much sucks... I had the original Power 90 and really enjoyed it, but I don't recall how long it took. The new one is the P90X and supposedly is quite a library of routines.

I have slim in 6 and Pilates. They are both pretty good. Pilates is harder for me because I am not that flexible. But my mother in law is 54 and she does pilates EVERY morning. She is in amazing shape!!

I've been using Jillian's 30-day shred which is pretty good. And actually, I concentrate too much on what I'm doing to really notice the background music.

I also love my Turbo Jam videos. If I was going to recommend only one Turbo Jam video, I would recommend the Cardio Party Remix Live video. It's 30 mins, but I feel like that 30 mins gives me the most bang for my buck.

Can't wait to see what other suggestions you get!

Though I might have to check out one of these Carmen Electra videos that Fred is recommending. My hubby might like that...

I do yoga occasionally at the gym. Always the only guy... tiz funny to see the older women who are there every day outflexing the younger women... now they all still out flex me and by the end of it i'm usually sweating pretty good after an hour of stretching...

There are so many out there, to suit so many different styles. If you aren't sure which one to try, why not visit the library. Most libraries have a selection to give a go. Otherwise, Wii fit could be an option.

The Carmen ones are more for guys - they are called 'Strip fit'. I think. They are a bit too easy to maintain interest, or improve fitness.

Alternatively, ipod with music you like and walk round the block!

actually disk 2 is more of a cardio and isometric workout with a trainer, it's to get yourself into shape to do the strip moves so that might work too and nothing about disk 2 looked easy to me. it looks like it would work your muscles.

if you wan't something more intense and can handle alot of pushups i would recommend the s.w.a.t extreme weight loss dvd. that is also 30 minutes if you don't do the 6 minute abs and he has suggestions for lower impact moves if your not ready to do the others.

i can't do it yet becauuse i can't even hold my body up for two push ups. believe i tried everything under the sun my body just won't let me. i got mine through amazon.

i got like, a growing shelf of dvds but those are the ones i think could work

Well, I've been doing the Shred now for 3 weeks or so. But not every day. Usually about 3 or 4 times a week. And that's just my morning exercise. I think it's giving me some pretty nice arms, and I'm starting to get more used to the earlier to bed, earlier to rise routine, but sometimes I still feel like I have no time at night. Thank goodness for weekends!!

There's an option on the DVD for doing the work out without Jillian's commentary. You could do it once or twice with her then just turn her off. She is pretty annoying at times.

Ministry of Sound Pump it Up DVD

http://www.amazon.com/Pump-Up-Burn-Lose/dp/B000HOJ EQU/ref=pd_bbs_sr_4?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1216667119&s r=8-4

Hilarious outfits, fun workouts, real burn and customisable length of workout...from start to finish its about an 1 hour 15 but the aerobics and boxing sessions are seriously good. The music is clubby stuff...I love it!

I like Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred...but I am a big fan of hers in general. She has a 5 DVD boxset of circuit training workouts which I also really like...each one is about 25-30 minutes long and really effective in my opinion. I bought mine on Amazon, only $25 for 5 DVDs!

Jackie Warner's WorkOut (of that Bravo TV show by the same name) recently came out with a DVD. There are 3 work outs, lower body, abs and upper body, each routine is 20 minutes. Yes I know it's a reality TV show, but she is a good trainer and the workouts are challenging. I'm getting good results doing one or two of her workouts followed by some running on the treadmill.
