Lorraine,
I'm a walker, too. Love my ipod.
I put on my pedometer when I wake up and try for 12,000 steps. Great motivator...wearing the pedom.
Off to check out that website....thanks.

Check out the Fat2Fit group here on Traineo also. They have an excellent podcast with great info (I found them a few months ago when I actually was actually starting to thing a Gastric Bypass might be my only way out, but that was always a last resort for me. They have a podcast interview with a guy that had a Gastric Bypass and its very interesting to listen too). Anyway they talk about the Couch to 5K program and I've got it bookmarked (its the Cool Running website version of this, so I hadn't seen this specific one). This is definetly going to be a goal of mine (my ultimate goal is I want to be able to hike to the top of Pikes Peak before I turn 50. I'm 44 right now, so I'm giving myself plenty of time to get this weight off and get in condition to do this). I'll check out the Podcasts on this site though. That sounds great!

Ok, So I started Week 1- Day1 of the c25K program yesterday. I nver really thought Id be able to run, but I did and I wasn't dieing either. Today however my legs are pretty sore. Tommorrow, no matter how bad my thighs hurt I am doing day 2 on that program. Come July, I am going to be so ridiculously fit and slim. lol

I love the couch to 5k program! I just finished the program! I never thought of myself as a runner...but now I get cranky if I don't get to run!! One of the best motivators for me was to actually sign up for a 5K. It gave me something to train for and kept me motivated. Happy Running!!

I feel that exercise is a vital part to my getting healthy. I've been walking for a few years, it is my exercise of choice. Can't do the running anymore, but love the walking.
Glad to see others moving it, too. Mike, great goal to climb Pikes Peak.
I journal my minutes and wear my ped every day. Anyone else keep track of steps/mins?

I have started walking again...as the weather gets better here I will do it more. I really enjoy step aerobics classes but I am not up to that after an almost 2 year layoff so walking works for me and my dog Belle is very happy to come with!

@ Carol
I have a pedometer and used to tracked my steps religiously. I even had a log here on Traineo to track daily steps & aerobic steps. I haven't done this in quite some time though and now need to get a new battery for my ped to start again.
@ Lorraine
C25K is an awesome program, I started it back in the beginning of my journey, but found it too hard on my knees and shins when I was still close to 300lbs. I might revisit this program when I get down under 250lbs though.

Haven't done a damn thing since week 1, day 2. So pathetic. After Sundays show with Paul McKenna, (I watched it last night) I plan on using those finger squeezing strategies to get myself to be "not so lazy." Today is day 1. Wish me luck.
