In response to some interest in logging 'weight moved' from Monique's post about exercise challenges, here is a new one!
On Monday, start logging your weight training workouts, for each set keep track of the weight and reps. Your total poundage is the sum of all the weight*rep calculations.
Log daily to help keep track. I might create a shared google doc over the weekend, I might not Most likely I will just take the #'s every couple days and log them into a spreadsheet and report weekly.
The race is to 1,000,000 lbs!!

For example, yesterday:
OP: 45X12, 65X8, 95X6X3, 85X5 = 3195
Upright Row: 85X6, 85X8X2 = 1870
Curl: 30X6X4 (x2 arms), 20X4X4 (x2 arms) = 2080
EZ bar curl: 30X8X4 = 960
Skull Crusher: 30X10X4 = 1200
EZ bar press: 30X6X4 = 720
Dumbell press: 45X8X2, 45X5 = 585
Close grip press: 95X6X3 = 1710
Dips: 180X6X2 (80lb assist, 260lb me) = 2160
Total: 14,480lbs

Leg day is around 20,000-25,000 lbs... it's a 4-8 week race I would think, depending on who gets involved... If this is just me it will suck

I only lift twice a week for the tri training so I'm pretty sure you would blow me out of the water. How would you consider body weight btw? Like I do calf raisers for example. Do I get to count 180 lbs x 80 reps? Or does it have to be extra weight?

I don't count body weight, unless you're doing pull ups/chin ups/dips, otherwise my squat would be awesome If I do calf raises, I'll either use the smith machine or just a weighted barbell (or in the busy gym wednesday, after I finished my leg press, I racked the weight and then used it for calf with the stop in place).

I usually do toe risers on a stair or something. I don't see the point in waiting on the machine when there's like 30 perfectly good stairs right there. Haha.

Yesterday:
Leg Press: 235lbs x 24 reps = 5,640lbs
Arm Curls: 50lbs x 27 reps = 1,200 lbs
Incline Bench Press: 60lbs x 24 reps = 1,440lbs
Shoulder Press: 50lbs X 24 = 1,200lbs
Total Weight Lifted on February 10, 2008 = 9,480lbs
I do this routine every other day so I would have about 29,000lbs per week at this pace which would get me to 1 Million pounds in 34 weeks. I think I will need to lift more to be competitive.

I think I understand. But I'm not so good at math, lol.
Leg Press:
235lbs x 15 reps = 3525lbs
250lbs x 15 reps = 3750lbs
275lb x 15 reps = 4125lbs
Leg Extension:
120lbs x 30 reps = 3600lbs
Leg Curl:
120lbs x 30 reps = 3600lbs
Calf Raises:
70lbs x 30 reps = 2100lbs
Biangular Chest Press:
120lbs x 30 reps = 3600lbs
Chest Fly:
60lbs x 10 reps = 600lbs
70lbs x 20 reps = 1400lbs
Shoulder Press:
60lbs x 30 reps = 1800lbs
Biangular Row:
120lbs x 30 reps = 3600lbs
Bicep Curl:
60lbs x 10 reps = 600lbs
70lbs x 20 reps = 1400lbs
Tricep Pushdown:
120lbs x 30 = 3600lbs
Total Weight Lifted 2/10/08: 37,300
If I didn't add this up right, somebody let me know.

I wasn't able to make it to the Gym yesterday so I am heading there tonight.
I don't see myself winning this competition. You guys lift a heck of a lot more than I do.

Do an extra set! and regardless, I think it's going to feel pretty cool when we hit milestones like 100,000lbs, 250,000lbs, 500,000lbs
