Well I started Monday January 7th, 2008.

I'm on the P90X (which I received as a Christmas gift)

DAY 1: Crazy! The plan provides tons of information which I enjoy, but I found it hard to navigate through. The menus are amazing but allow for a lot of prep work- next week is the same menu so we (my girlfriend and I) made two servings this week so I could keep one for next week. The food is expensive too- it cost me $250 for a two weeks of food...which may not seem alot, but it is when we were use to spending $100

The Workout was hard- I did the fitness test prior, but the workouts are far beyond what I imagined. I recommend (as does Tony Horton, the instructor) to start slow, pace yourself, and pause the DVD and go at your own pace- the DVD was about an hour long- took me about and hour and a half to finish. Was a little disappointed at my performance, but knew it was my first workout so I wasn't to worried...felt it the next day though.

DAY 2: Found DAY 2 workout really, really, hard. Tony Horton is an animal! I found it very difficult to keep going- it was legs and midway through the DVD I had to stop because I felt like I was going to throw up. Day 3: I am so sore from the last workout, wanted to take the day off to recoup- however, it was Arms and shoulders day and I LOVE doing arms. I managed to complete the workout, but I know I'll feel that tomorrow. I purchased some Whey powder and whey juice powder, and a thingy that clips onto your door- so you can attach resistance bands...unfortunately, when I got home I couldn't find my bands...it ended up haunting me all during my workout and I almost quit mid way through to look for them...I hate working out when I have stuff on my mind- I usually try to block out everything before I start out. I'm finding the workout hard to do in my apartment. Nothing like having my dog's cold nose poke me in the ear while trying to do pushups )

Hope tomorrow is better

DAY 4: Was exhausted today- went to bed late- only 6.5 hours sleep I managed to make the breakfast listed and ate. Only felt hungry after 4:00pm. Stuck to the entire diet plan thus far and it is delicious! But a lot of work. My legs were in so much pain today, that I could hardly walk. I decided to take todays workout off. I spend the evening cooking and preparing for the next couple of days. I ran out of turkey bacon and egg whites so I had to go to the 24hr. grocery store...Or what I like to call Temptation Station! I was tempted by everything but stuck to what I needed. Am exhausted, but I know the first couple of weeks will be HELL...I'm going to bed.

Followed the menu to a T today and did the DVD for today- A friend of mine dropped by the office and bought me a Coffee...from Tim Hortons! I usually take triple cream, triple sugar....crazy! So I took two sips and then let it sit until it got cold and I ended up throwing it out I feel great and plan on purchasing all the necessary groceries for next week tomorrow and cook my face off, so everything will be prepared all next week.

I purchased resistance bands today and a thing that attaches it to the door- the whole time I used it though, all I could think of is the attachment ripping from the door and the resistance bands flinging back in my face like a huge elastic band... I also weighed myself and found I lost 10 lbs! 20 more to go! I'm going to bed now ZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzz!

Hey, I didn't want this to be a "just me" thread LOL

Anyway, I'm still doing great! Following the meals- haven't strayed and keeping on track with the exercises. Two days ago however, I really hurt my back turning wrong (not on an exercise, just turned around wrong and felt my spine tingle a bit) so, that has taken the intensity of my workouts down a notch.

I started on Jan 7th. The first week, I ate really clean and only showed a .4 pound loss. Then on this weeks weigh in I had dropped 3 pounds. From 272.4 to a smooth 269. My running is slowly coming back, I did a 3 miler this morning outdoors (I hate the treadmill). I hope to soon work back up to 5 miles but I am not rushing it. I learned my first go round that you can easily hurt yourself by going too far, too soon.

I am having trouble with my workouts. I am still going to the gym daily and going through the motions, but I'm having trouble finishing the cardio workouts and pushing myself on strength training. I am hoping something will push me over the edge and help me get my drive to push myself back.

Tom, Patrick, and Farah - awesome work! Maybe YOU'LL be what motivates me to push harder!

Try doing cardio first- or the workout routines that you "hate". It sounds to me like you may have too much exercises on your plate too. Try breaking them up so you're doing about 45min- to an hours worth. Or doing cardio one day, and then strength stuff the next.

Another thing you can try is to do something that keeps your mind off of the workout- listen to Fat 2 Fit radio while on the treadmill and make a deal that you won't get off until the show ends Or bring a friend and chat while you run. I personally hate working out with others, I don't know why; but I have to be in a workout "zen" by myself.

When I find I'm trying to quit early, or stop lifting before I hit the wall- I try to think of bumping into that ex-girlfriend all ripped and cut.

I know it's kinda cheesy, but try to keep the "Quit" thought out of your mind and "Just do it" LOL

I heard a quote from Dr. Phil who once said "that winners do what losers don't do." sometimes that quote will pop in when I feel like stopping and going to the couch and eat a bag of processed food. Try coming up with your own mantra.

Hope this help- keep in touch and us updated.

Thanks. I hope that helps, too! Part of the problem is I'm just physically exhausted and can't seem to do as much, even though I'm in the best shape of my life and have to push really really hard to even get my heart rate up, now. I get a good amount of sleep and eat very nutritious foods. But Im also a mother of two and don't sit down all day.

I do have this motivation: I'm going to be meeting my husband's lifelong "female" best friend for the first time in March at a wedding. I want to be way hotter than her! LOL!

yeah I have been in a little bratty " I dont wanna" mode the past couple days too. So what I do is try to motivate my self by saying other bratty I dont wannas. Like instead saying " I dont wanna eat healthy" I'll think more along the lines of " I dont wanna shop at Layne Bryant anymore!' and go from there. So far it's worked and I have dragged my lazy but to the gym everyday this week and rewarded myself with a nice sit in the steemroom yesterday.
