Hi Everyone,
You probably know all about me from listening to the show, but here is a quick review.
I have been fighting my weight for most of my life and have been dieting off and on for about 20 years. I have a Bachelor of Education in Physical Education and I have worked as a Personal Trainer while going through University.
Even though I had most of the knowledge and education about health and fitness, I found it almost impossible to manage my weight when I moved from teaching Phys Ed to teaching computer subjects.
A few years ago, I decided to re-learn everything that I already knew, and more importantly, put it to use in my own life on a consistent basis. I made a huge improvement to my health and appearance and since then, I have been working very hard to maintain my fitness.
I'm still human, and my weight and motivation does fluctuate, but now I keep my weight on a much tighter leash.
Here are my before and after pictures from 2005.

Hi Everyone! My name is Kristin. I'm a mother of two from the Chicago area.
I found f2f on iTunes while stocking up my phone with podcasts to listen to.
I've also been fighting weight most of my life trying various diets. Finally I desperately went to my doctor for help.
I've been working with my doctor for almost a month to loose weight with a combination of diet/b12 shots/phentermine/& exercise. It seems to be working well and for once I feel like I can succeed.
I can't tell you how much weight I've lost to date. I've decided to only check my weight at my bi-weekly doctors appointments. The huge results make more of a difference to me. Weighing myself daily is just frustrated.
I'll be sure to let you know what it is when I go in next weekend!
Thanks for the podcast and the time you give to help others succeed in their goals. It's been very convenient and helpful for me.

Hi,
I really have been enjoying listening to F2F radio podcasts - and what I like about it is that you emphasize reality and reasonable goals - no extreme promises! I have been fighting the ubiquitous 10 lbs all my life but now that I am approaching my 50 th birthday - I really need to get it off for good. I have had alot of accidents and iinjuries in the past few years which prevented me from working out at the level that I need to to lose weight but I am healed and motivated and ready to go!
By the way I am another Canadian on board!

Hi All -
My name is Tricia. I just moved to Portland, Oregon from Southern California and I'm finding that the cooler weather and gloomy skies here are a major barrier for me when it comes to outdoor activity. I've been fighting my weight since I was 16. I made some headway 2 years ago when I lost 60 lbs on Weight Watchers, but have since gained 30 back. I'm 28 now and I want to lose, if not all, a majority of the weight before my 30th birthday in October 2009. I've got a long way to go, but I'm tired of crash diets and I'm certain I can do this slowly and reasonably.
Thanks Jeff and Russ for setting up this community. I've been listening to Fat 2 Fit Radio on the headphones at work and you've inspired me to get back on track for the new year!

Hi,
I am 42 years old. In October 2004 I weighed in at 351lbs. I started going to Weight Watchers and have lost over 130lbs. I have been at goal since June 2006. Since losing the weight I have taken up running. I never could run when I was younger and the running I did do, I had absolutely no stamina whatsoever.
Last year I ran in some shorter distance races and trained and ran 2 half-marathons.
My goal is to run a full marathon this coming year. I have started a BLOG to help motivate myself. Since I am 42 this year, I figured what better time to run a 42KM race. I titled my BLOG 42@42.
I started listening to podcasts during my runs. I started with Phedippidations and Steve suggested listening to many podcasts, which eventually led me Fat2Fit. This in turn has led me to Traineo and the Fat2Fit group. Every tool in the Weight-loss and fitness toolbox helps.

Hi I'm kassy and I learnt about f2f days before I flew for a holiday vacation, I figured having podcast on my ipod will have me reminded about my goal which is to have a dose of health information everyday as I go along with my journey towards gaining back my adrenaline, endurance and stamina.
I gained a whooping 50 lbs because I had to take steroids from terrible alleriges and suffering from the weight gain for almost 5 months now. The depression has been terrible since I no longer go out, I still haven't got a job, I get really down and sleepy right away and the list goes on. My clothes doesn't fit, men doesn't look at me, everyone says that I have gone so fat and the worst among is that my boyfriend whom is the reason why I went back to my home country cheated on me.
What way to say that world has given me too much to carry on top of my shoulders.
I enrolled myself to a gym and every gym day is a challenge for me since getting there isn't easy. I haven't been in the gym for a week now since I flew myself for a holiday vacation.
I have lost 5 lbs already and now that I am back in my home country, after Christmas I will get myself back to fitness at the gym. It's hard to attend every day since I ride with my cousin going there; it's far from home. I have marked the calendar and I attend at least 2x-3x a week.
I have a blog and you may find me <a href=http://diet.com/dietblogs/read_blog_by_poster .php?uid=712924&blsp=Weigh+it+Goodbye%21">here</a>
I'm 23 years old, a Chef enthusiast, currently a hotelier and struggling to be a Flight Attendant but how am I going to achieve my goals to my dream career having this weight on? My body assestment said that I have 42% body fat ( TERRIBLE!!! ) from an 18% which I used to have and I regret having to think that I was fat those days! to think I was 105 lbs and my heaviest at those times was just 115 lbs.
Thanks to f2f because I have been learning everyday and repriminded. I'm struggling still but goo dthing for podcast, I get to have a dose of everyday fitness news.
HELP! Thanks

Hi,
I am new to podcasts and blogs, but happily have discovered F2F. I will introduce myself to y'all. I am a 37 yr. old from Sheboygan, WI. I practice dentistry, and am married with 2 boys (4 and 2), 1 girl (6 mos.), and a greyhound named Scout. In the last 2 years I have gone from 175 lbs. to 220 lbs., from running a marathon and climbing Mt. Whitney, to hoping to run 2 miles without stopping. My goal is to return to 175 lbs. by my birthday in September (254 days). Also, to train for this year: complete a sprint triathlon, and half marathon, climb Mt. Hood... then Mt. Whitney again.
My biggest obstacle: making time for working out, getting enough sleep, and eating healthy.
Thanks to F2F for your motivation and info. Consistency is the key!!!

I joined Weight Watchers in January of this year and I am down 100lbs. I have around 15 to 20lbs to go. I am training with the Jeff Galloway program to run a marathon on Feb. 17, 2008.
I feel great and hope to ramp up my toning in 2008. I enjoy Pilates, running, cooking, and now shopping.
I follow the Core plan and try to eat very little out of a box. The plan has been easy and I set very small goals for my self all the time.
Henry Ford said it best- If you think you can or can't you are right.

I live here in Hamilton, Ontario Canada. I started listening to the show about a month ago I believe. Anyway, just recently close family have been commenting on my rapid weight gain. I was always 200 lbs, and didn't feel that I gained anything. I hit the scale to prove to my girlfriend that her (and others) were wrong- only to find out I gained 20lbs in three months! I know I have to do something.
This past Christmas my girlfriend got me the P90X home training kit. I have made it my goal to start a exercise routine and stick with it.
I also proposed to my girlfriend this past Christmas...my goal is to loose the weight before our wedding.

Hi,
I have been listening to weight loss podcast for about 10 months... but I really like the fomat of THIS podcast. It really seems like Jeff and Russ care about helping others. I was so impressed, I had my bff Cathy sign up also and we listened to the podcast together last night.
It seems my problem is that I am all or nothing kind of person. I'll be super active and committed for few years and then "bam" just fall off the wagon. After competing in the Ironman Triathlon in Nov. 2005, I have pretty much been just floating... thus the 20lbs of weight gain. Part of it was from injury but I also travel 75% of the time to overseas. That is why I need to make this a balanced lifestyle. I would like to create a lifestyle where it doesn't seem like it has to be all or nothing.
As for the 2008 goals:
I found that I need a challenging goal in order for me to stick to the program. My husband wants me to do a marathon with him this year, but that means that I have to be totally committed and disciplined. I would love to lose 20 lbs by my 40th b-day party... but I realize that need to set smaller goals that I can break it down and hopefully this group will motivate me to stay committed and fabulously fit.
