I second Ron's message. Work on your trunk & obliques. Side bends, situps, roman situps, leg lifts, a good amount of yoga postures.. The stronger your core muscles are the more they will tighten the area. This will not eliminate your handles but will help. Word of warning if you train like a crazy man you can unintentionally make them larger.
Hence why lifestyle shifts are important. A diet is something that is temporary, a lifestyle is forever. Pay attention to what you eat, and if you cheat, at least be honest and document it. The more you pay attention to things the more change you can effect.
