Rach, you are doing aweseome! You are allowed to feel emotional and not be rational!! I lost it this week too - pregnancy is a big deal and there are so many changes happening ahead of you and with your body as the babies grow. You have 2 babies growing in you - so just love yourself and do what you need to do that works for you and hubby

Hope you really start to feel better this week - you are looking fabulous!

Thanks so much for the positive, encouraging words Catherine. I really really appreciate it. It's so nice to come on here and have my own little pep squad.

Today has been a better today. In fact, my hormones must have swung pretty hard core in the opposite direction because I had a laughing fit today. Just couldn't stop laughing. My brother just looks at my hubby and goes "is this the pregnancy hormones?" Hubby just smirked like you have no idea.

@Jess - hopefully I'll enjoy it more once this first trimester is over. I feel like poo poo again today. I'm starting to get a bit disheartened. One more week until the second trimester stats though so crossing my fingers.

That's an interesting article Karla. I feel like they may be the exception not the rule though. For example, exercise for me unfortunately does not make me less nauseous. Sometimes it does give me more energy but it usually does nothing for my tummy. It's great that they had such success, but I just don't want to set myself up for failure, you know? I hope it'll be like that for me, but if it's not then I don't want to be distraught either, you know?

The thought of working out during the nauseous phase, makes me well, nauseous!
I think you will absolutely bounce back pretty quick. You were and still are in great shape for carrying these babies. You have way more motivation than I did post Audrey. Now I regret that decision because I'm miserable and feeling sorry for myself Just means I have to work ridiculously hard next time.
Just keep on doing what you're doing. And even if you're not doing much.... walk, if and when you can.

I'm sorry you're still nauseated so much. Hopefully the second trimester is nice to you and gives you some relief. Just don't wake up on day one and expect it... give it a couple days or even weeks in to it. I think I was closer to 15-16 weeks before it completely went away, and haven't had any since.

Thanks, Karla. I'm trying not to expect day one of the 2nd trimester to be magical but I am hoping. Haha.

Hi Rach, Don't be discouraged. You were in such incredible shape before you became pregnant and you'll be fit and healthy for your babies because of that. They are going to be lucky little ones with a great mom.
I have been having the same trouble as you with Nausea - I haven't exercised in 3 weeks now and I used to exercise 7 days a week like you! As for food....I eat anything (and everything) that I can, when I feel I can. I know what a balanced diet is, I know what is best for my baby..but when I feel like vomiting every waking moment...it's hard to do what might be considered 'right'. No guilt, love yourself and do what is right for you.

If I could exercise every day I would...right now I feel lucky if I can find clean clothes to wear to work and not puke prior to breakfast The joy!!!

Month 3 or 4 should get you back on track and you'll be feeling super!!

Thanks, Catherine! You are so sweet. It's nice to know that I'm not the only mommy in this boat. I feel like you could have been writing some of that post about me instead of you. Haha. Thanks so much for the encouragement. Is this your first too?

@Inna - Thanks! The baby bump is kinda starting to grow on me too. (Pun intended) Hehe.

Week 13

 Pregnancy Ticker

Today I am 13 weeks! The limes graduated to jalapenos today!

Untitled

Here's a drawing for 13 weeks (the twin development pics I found are only every 4 weeks):

Fingerprints have formed on jalapenos' tiny fingertips, their veins and organs are clearly visible through their still-thin skin, and their bodies are starting to catch up with their head — which makes up just a third of their body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your babies are almost 3 inches long and weigh nearly an ounce each.

I am now officially 20 lbs up. I just really truly don't feel like I'm eating enough to have gained 20 lbs in 11 weeks. I mean, really. I've gained 20 lbs before in my life (not proud moments), but I know what kind of eating that takes. And I'm just not doing it. Even eating as much as I wanted whenever I wanted and not exercising a lick, it usually takes around 4 months to gain that much. So I guess my body is just holding onto every ounce of food I put in my mouth. And maybe some of it is water weight..? I am drinking like a crazy person. I almost feel like I can't get enough water sometimes. Oh well, I will try to stick to my philosophy, "until the doc says something's wrong, then it's all good." Besides, my legs, arms, upper chest, and face still look the same. Hubby reminds me of this every time I bring up my weight gain.

For comparison, I'm including some pics of the last time I was this weight.

I think there's a pretty huge difference between the two. I don't think they look even remotely similar which gives me some peace about the situation. I think if I can't quit feeling negative about my weight every week, I may just have to stop it altogether and just do pics.

Anyways, here's a pic of me and Kevin in our Easter attire.

How am I feeling?

Another poo poo week, but less emotional at least so that's good. I'm a mere 3 days away from the 1st day of the 2nd trimester! I've got more school work than I can keep up with on this sick schedule. The semester's over in 2 weeks, but I don't know if I'll be finished with everything in 2 weeks. Fortunately for me, my professors are being extremely understanding. I really have to applaud all of them for being so considerate. In my class, I've been told that I can take an "I" (incomplete) and finish up on my own time. Then they'll change it to an "A" when I wrap it up. My research adviser never gets angry with me even a little bit even when I say "I did nothing this week. I'm sorry." So I really can't complain too much on the school front. Even if it's stressful because I want to get done on time, no one will count it against me if I don't.

On a completely different note, I think I may be allergic to the belly butter stuff that I bought. I started using it on my boobs since they've been hurting and itching a lot, and that just irritated the crap out of them. So now when I need something more than lotion on them, I've been using just plain old vaseline which is gross but really helps.

Okay, so here's hoping for a good week! I've been promised good things about the 2nd trimester and I'm so glad that I'm almost there, but I'll try not to get my hopes up too too much in case the good feelings are a little bit further away for me. Crossing my fingers!!

I can't get over those pics! It's amazing the difference a "fit n healthy" 183 can make!

You look great
