I am wondering if any of you have tried the 7 day cabbage soup diet. I have been reading and watching Youtube video testimonials and it sounds like it really works. Some people complain that the soup is awful... I am a vegetarian so I doubt a veggie soup could be that awful, however, I love all veggies. I know this diet is a fad diet, but, if it works I am willing to give it a shot. Let me know how this diet went for you!

I think there a lot of folks on here that have tried any number of things, but have all found their way here because they just don't work, especially in the long run.
The people that have had the most long term success have reasonable plans and stick with them. Perhaps not the answer you were looking for, but it's what I got. |

Well I definitely want to give it a shot. It's all you can eat soup which appeals to the soup lover in me a lot. I eat well, just too much! So I think this diet will help me with cutting back on portion sizes.

Give it a shot for a week. Then come up with a long term plan. I actually tried that diet once back in college. My roommate hated me for making the dorm smell like cabbage. I ruined the containers that I kept the soup in ... no matter how much I washed them, I could not get the smell to go away. Ended up pitching them. The soup itself tasted okay... well for the first few servings. It got old pretty quickly though. Same old thing every cabbage stinking day.
I agree with Justa. |

Cabbage soup has a rather nasty side effect ....
and as Scott mentioned, wouldn't you get bored of the same of stuff everyday which I'm sure would lead to a binge. Perhaps a more balanced approach is best - something that can be sustained for longer than a week, and is more nutritious? |

Well, as I already said, I already eat a good diet. I am a vegetarian ... not one that eats cheetos and oreos all day. I eat all vegetables and fruit. My problem is that I eat too much of these healthy foods. I think this 7 day diet will be good for me because I will be forced to eat a lot less than I am accustomed to. Hopefully my stomach will shrink a little bit and then I can return to my healthy eating habits at moderate portion sizes and not feel like I need so much food.
Anyways, I will just give it a try and I'll see how it goes. I am not trying to down this diet before I even give it a shot. I was just hoping to engage others who have tried this diet to tell me about their experiences. |

tired it Farted a lot!!!!! got old really quick soup for breakfast soup for lunch soup for dinner
soup to snack on. lost weight yes i did thought I would simply do it for a week then start a really healthy diet plan having "cleansed my pallette" yes i did. Piled on more weight after doing it yes I did. I dont rate it short term on long term though I am all for home made soup and having it for lunch rather than calorie ladden sandwiches. It's virtually calorie free after all. But as a diet plan caloire free means you are basically filling up on water all day nutritionally it just doesn't make sense. ![]() |

On the paleo diet you are welcome to eat cabbage in raw, cooked or soup form. And you are also allowed to eat all other living things that are not grains, legumes or the spawn of processing plants.
It's fine to go on these crazy things if you just want to say you did it, but if you already eat cleanly, than this isn't going to shock you into a new way of thinking. Changing your lifestyle or just tweaking it should remember that your lifestyle should be a life you can live, and have lots of style. |

I'd be really interested to know how it goes ... be great if you could document the week here. When you ate, how you felt, how much weight you lost.
