So I take it almost everyone that owns a WII loves WII Sports. However, what other games do people like? I need to buy a game, but not sure which one. I am not a fan of Zelda, so I am not buying that one.

Anyone own Madden? Is it good or annoying?

Madden is definitely a remix of the classic football game. Be prepared (if you do buy it) for a completely new way to play football. I was blown away by it. Good or annoying? hard to say. Football games only keep my attention for a few months at most. After that, they're in the bottom of the pile. But it definitely is a new way to play football.

I love Rayman, fun fun game and good workout minigames too. After awhile, it can get kind of boring and repetitive, unless you have friends over for multiplayer.

Do not buy Red Steel, sucks worse than the South Beach Diet (...*ZING*...)

I've heard Call of Duty 3 is pretty good, if you like First Person shooters, it's a great one.

I haven't tried any of the other games, but heard that Excite Truck was also a neat little game. Very fun as you use the controller as a steering wheel.

I'm also getting a copy of WarioWare: SmoothMoves in the mail today (hopefully) so I'll be able to check that out.

Also, if you're the type that likes to try before buying, you could always sign up for Gamefly (www.gamefly.com), it's like Netflix for video games, and it works great. $15/month gets you one game. They have all the latest consoles too.

Thanks Jack! I might have to try Madden.

IF you don't want Madden anymore I can always buy it from you via Paypal.

I heard good and bad about Wario Ware. I even heard from some people that it is a good workout. I will wait to hear from you to see what you think.

I have heard from gamefly, but I might wait on that.

Haha... you were smart to put that little disclaimer about Zelda in your original post. It's the first game I would have recommended.

Are you specifically looking for games that will be good to use in a workout?

Jack pretty much covered it. I am still waiting to get a Wii, but Rayman Raving Rabbids and Warioware Smooth Moves are toted as being workout-friendly, in addition to Wii Sports.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves is just crazy. It's a lot of fun especially after you unlock the multi-player mode. We were playing with six people (you take very quick turns with one controller) the other night and it was very entertaining.

Excite Truck is actually pretty fun for what it is, too. Other than that I've only got Madden and Zelda, which have already been covered.

Ok, got a review on WarioWare: Smooth Moves. Very fun, extremely quirky. As far as "workout" goes though...eh...not sold on it yet. They have this mode done by this character called "Capt. Gyro", where you attempt to do workout based games (pulling your arms apart like you were doing a strength band, etc) and it gives you a score based on how fast you do a certain action. Can it be a workout mode? I guess, but it doesn't seem to be very sweat inspiring, it seems to resemble more of a low weight but high rep routine. Worth a shot to look at, has a multiplayer mode, but I don't have any friends, so I can't check it out. j/k

For down the road, EA sez they are currently developing Fight Night for the Wii, Kind of a Wii boxing on steroids (forgive the pun).

Fight Night coming to the Wii

Also Konami is showing a new DDR title that will use the mat, nunchuck, and wiimote.

John, thanks for the link about Fight Night. I loved it on 360. I can't wait to see if they will do it on WII. I assume it wont happen until 2008 though.

I currently have Madden and like it. It tends to be more fun playing with a friend than the console.

Bought Zelda and found it was too "kiddish" selling on ebay.

Rented Rayman Rabbits and laughed about 20 times....very good game.

Bought Second Trauma last night online, hope to have it next week.

Next on the list will be Tiger Woods Golf

If I may...

Wii Play: Not worth the effort, IMHO. There's a reason it comes with the Wii Remote--there's no other reason to buy it. You will master the games in only a few tries as they are not very challenging. Just buy an extra Remote and save the $10. This is the game Wii should have been packaged with as it focuses on mastery of the Wii Remote. I would have gladly paid for Wii Sports later on.

Wario Ware: Fun if not repetitive. The games are pretty crazy and way out there, but don't expect a good workout playing it. The graphics, music, and gameplay will probably make you laugh.

Excite Truck: Now this game is all-out fun if you like driving games. Crazy jumps, serious air, and complex tracks make this one you'll want to buy.
