Good day to you all and Welcome to our Group -

I realised yesterday when someone asked me what I had been doing all day and I replied, "I was Wii'ing" that although the name makes sense when you know what we are talking about it could be mistaken for something else - she did look at me kind of funny until I explained!

I also discovered that playing the Bowling game with somebody else is extra exercise because I sat down in betwen goes and realised after about the fifth go, duh, that I was jumping up each time to take my go -

Skill wise, I'm useless at the tennis, my hand-eye co-ordination is just rubbish but I love the golf and the bowling, and the boxing just knocks me out! (no pun intended!)

So, come on, tell me all about your Wii'ing days!

The wii for me has been an everyday thing after i bought it a week ago. I play the tennis the most, and boxing.

Tell me, when you play, do you get super-into it, cause i find myself, for say, during tennis, running aroundn my room like a squirrel, chasing after the 'ball'.

Its a great way to have fun with video games, without the guilt of not doing anything.

I feel SO good this morning, I finally woke up early and went out to the living room and did 30 minutes of Wii sports. It felt really good after working out, I didn't want to stop but had to get ready for work. My daughter even noticed that I was more awake then usual when she saw me. I hope I can keep this up as I'm sure it will help me a lot.

I haven't been playing Wii sports, but I do work out and have a Wii and felt compelled to say hello!!! I will make a point to try to do 30 minutes of tennis one day, with full arm motions and the like. I am SOOO disappointed -- Toys R Us said they had Mario DDR available. I put in an order and then they emailed me back to say it was no longer in stock. ARG! I thought I might actually be able to do DDR on the Wii! Well, I may still invest in a dance pad

Oh mi God - Today and yesterday I somehow managed to get my fitness level down from 71 to 29 and 32!! I think its because I have been playing so much I can actually hit the ball in the baseball now... though in the boxing I manage to hit the instructor more than the pads - but hey - it has inspired me to believe that if I keep doing this every day maybe I'll get to the stage where my fitness age is always 20! And for me at 47, that's not a bad goal?

I really enjoy creating the Mii's - I have created all my friends so now when they visit, i introduce them to their Mii and its a great way to encourage them to play on it with me... (and no I'm not that controlling - I let them alter their miis if they want to)

I cannot believe how much more active this thing is making me! I just pray it lasts.

I just got the Wii 3 days ago, and, w/ traineo, it has become my main exercise tool. Other than a bad case of Wii-arm , I fell better already!

with the pad punching, the main thing is to position your glove so that you hit it, it's more about precision than just knocking the trainers head off, although that can be good for a laugh

Take your time with the pad punching and you'll get good at it, it DOES work!

I absolutely sucked at the pad punching at first. I found that leaning, as you do when dodging a punch, helps a lot. Now, I'm only hitting him a few times, as opposed to almost every time

I've been doing it every other night and on those nights, I lift weights.

But I'm Wii'ing tonight even though I already lifted weights

Els, my family and I purchased a Wii two days ago, and we love it! I am not planning on substituting any of my normal workouts (treadmill, jazzercize, biking, etc) for the Wii, but I think it will be a great addition to my workouts. And it keeps my husband and two kids from wanting to sit around and watch TV.

Els, I've had a Wii since February... And I still love it, but don't do it nearly as much as I used to. Mainly because there are only so many "fitness" games out right now, and that is really the only kind of games I like, the ones that get you up and moving. Once you get to a certain point on Wii Sports, you keep playing against the same competitor, so it doesn't seem like you're going anywhere and stops being quite so much fun. I'm looking forward to more games coming out, though! I'm still very, very happy I bought this game system!

Hi Everybody,

I am new to this group, and really enjoying the Wii for exercise.

Does anyone have any tips on how to be a better boxer? I laughed when I read the posts about punching your trainer in the face more than the pads - that is SO me.

So, how do you be more "precise" when hitting the pads? Is it truly just a matter of practice and getting the feel of it, or are there some other things I could be doing?

I've found the Wii to be my best exercise tool-and I think I've tried it all. I've found the fun in trying to master my Wii Fitness Age...then realized that I was increasing the muscle in one arm alone. Well, that led me to a fun new version of Wii Sports: Create two Miis and test your skills on each arm. My left arm isn't feeling quite so neglected now, evening my body, and I get twice the workout without tiring as quickly.
