This involves a scale, but we'll call it a delightful surprise. I went to the doctors office for a checkup last week and when I stepped on the scale I went to adjust the 'big' weight to speed things along. I realized that I needed to set it at 150 instead of 200 as I've done for the last 25+ years! Sure am glad to say goodbye to that 200 lb baseline!

I had to do gymnastics class with my (very nearly two year old) daughter this past weekend. I was the biggest guy there by at least 100 lbs, but I was able to keep up with the class for the whole 45 minutes and even do all of the stuff they wanted the kids to do (mine will copy me but not her teacher for some reason)
When I weighed over 350 lbs, I would have made it less than 5 minutes into this class and failed at 99 to 100% of the "demonstrations"
Best of all my kid loves it and if she keeps up her pace will never become obese like her parents have.

I have a pair of shorts that until very recently could fit, but felt like they cut off circulation to the lower half of my body. When I wore them yesterday, they were comfortable, even with a little roominess.
Yay exercise!!!

I fit into a couple of shirts that I could not wear last month! Very happy. I have some cool Hawaiian shirts waiting to be worn.

Great job Robyn. I have only been on the lifestyle change for a month but last night we went out to eat at a BBQ and I could only eat 2/3rds of my meal which I would easily have eaten the whole thing before.
My clothes are getting looser too, woohoo
Going for my annual physical in a month, hoping to get my triglycerides down!

Hi everyone! And congrats to all
At 30 years old, 5'1" and 168 pounds when I started, I am glad to say that 9 pounds lost over two months (slow, very slow, and steady, and healthy, yay Fat2Fit), I now, at 159 pounds (with many more to go):
* Have a waist again :) and lost several dress sizes
* Can do push ups on my feet for the *first time* in my life; if I can lift 159, I am only looking forward to them getting stronger as I get back down to 110 (my weight to about the age of 25.. but even back then I could never do a real push up!)!
* Have been doing the "Beachbody Insanity" program, which is truly INSANE cardio training, and also weights, and have gone up significantly in how much I can lift. I can also now walk up the stairs of my apartment carrying 6 bags of groceries at a time (one on each shoulder, two in each hand) without huffing and puffing :)
* My diet has changed so drastically (towards healthy home cooking) that I can now easily drive by my favorite eateries without feeling the urge to stop by and grab a bite. This is from a person who used to dine out up to twice a day up until two months ago. HUGE change in the diet, and I feel much more energized for it!
THANK YOU FAT2FIT & community! LOVE you guys.

We cleaned out the church library yesterday, and discovered TONS of books that it looked like people just didn't want to throw out or recycle, so they gave them to the church. Since they sat, unbrowsed, in their box year after year, we decided to get rid of them.
I carried a huge box of these books all the way down the hall, down two flights of stairs, and all the way to my car, without breaking a sweat or my back. I've learned so much about form and proper lifting, and I've done a lot of circuit training. It just never showed up in my life outside the gym until yesterday.
Now, to repeat my feat of strength at the recycling center.

Great job Drew. Often, people fail to notice the changes they are making. Being able to carry on everyday activities without gasping is a great accomplishment. I am speaking from experience. I have been on a plateau for 5 weeks now, but can walk 5 miles with ease. I had trouble with 1 mile when I started 5 weeks ago, so progress is being made.
