For those of you who may be dreading the upcoming Sunday and Monday "holiday", what's the plan?

I'm having about 30 or so relatives over and I really don't want to advertise my program or diet. I always hated doing that. I like to keep it quiet.

How are you going to deal with the temptations and what are some healthy alternatives?

I plan on getting a lot of fresh veggies from Whole Foods and cutting them up by myself, offering nuts, diet soda...

Besides that what else could I offer and have around besides the obligatory carb riden pretzels, chips and cheese? Of course for dessert, we won't even go there.

Y'know Dave, this got me thinking that there have been years when I had no idea that it was Christmas morning, or New Years. "Why are the streets empty and why is the supermarket closed?" Being a complete knucklehead is not a diet plan though.

Veggies, hummus, babaganoosh. I dunno, maybe look into a cookbook for ideas. Oh, and how about just keeping busy playing host, a game of touch football or heading out for a walk.

Here's some cookbook type links

Mollie Katzen Online
Laurel's Kitchen
Greens Restaurant Books and Stuff

Anyway, good luck!

When I have to bring something I bring a veggie tray, and I throw out the dip...replace it with something better...

When there are lots of people (i have around 50 on one side of the family that we see)...i just try to get caught up in catching up...keeps me talkin' and away from the food.

Eat one plate and throw out the plate.

I have to be in two different places on Chistmas day though, so we'll see how that goes.
