At the risk of sounding like a spammer, has anyone tried this? Famous last words.

There are two Health Kit packages that run $85 for what appears to be a 12-day supply of food (36 assorted packages with each kit). That's only $7 a day, and looks to be a pretty easy way to get jump-started into eating more healthy food.

If it's anything like NutriSystem or another program, it probably requires that you supplement the food with big leafy green salads -- I couldn't really find enough info on the kits from the website.

If you're not familiar with Dr. McDougall, he espouses an ultra-low fat 100% vegan diet as a way to permanently lose weight and stay healthy.

If you have tried this, I'd be curious as to the following:
* Is this kit all inclusive, or do you supplement it with salads, etc?
* What is the calorie count per day?

If I ever get that NY job, I might even be able to afford one of his Costa Rica vacations!

i dont know anything about it but i was reading the website b/c of your post and if you look at the faqs it gives you more details. it says the calorie count is about 1200 per day. they also have sample kits if you wantt to try their food.

Oh, meh. I just found my answer.

Apparently "everything you need" means "we've included a cookbook - now go out, buy stuff, and start cooking". So not exactly all-inclusive. I was expecting 10 days of just-add-water and nuke goodness. Silly me.

Well, it's back to oatmeal and Saladworks for me...

Thanks TNM -- yeah, I guess I'm just feeling really lazy and wondering how I can advance to the next stage of healthful eating without too much effort. The last time I tried cooking, my wife made weird faces and refused to eat it.

yeah i can relate. i dont know how to cook but tend to heat things/reheat things myself but still manage to eat healthy most of the time. i try to keep things simple-like cereal and/ or oatmeal for breakfast with fruit or yogurt, salads and sandwiches for lunch and/or dinner. there is no easy way out but if you stock your kitchen with things you like, you are more likely to grab them. that helps me-to keep a fully stocked kitchen and refrig of healthier items and this way if im really hungry and grab something quickly i know that it isnt too bad for me.
