In case anyone's interested, I've been on LA WL's diet before. It's okay, and it works (as I assume almost any effort of will would). They stress eating the right amount of all kinds of foods, which I think IS the best kind of diet.

On the negative side, they recommend buying and using their snack bars. However you don't have to -- there's a protein/carb equivalent that you can increase your diet by, if you don't want to.

Probably my least favorite aspect about LAWL is that they claim their snacks have no trans fats, but the ingredient lists on most of them include partially hydrogenated oils - which ARE trans fats. If anyone else has some opinions about LAWL, put 'em here... I'm going to go start another thread about trans fats...

I think Dan is talking about L.A. Weightloss Centers. They are a franchise operation where, similar to Weight Watchers, the amount of food you eat is restricted but the variety is not limited. Also, you get weighed in every week. They do really stress and hard sell their supplements and bars, claiming that weight loss will not occur without them.

. LA weightloss can be an option, and I'm sure it works for alot of people, but I wasn't one of them. They recommend buying very expensive snack bars in order to receive your refund upon completion of weight loss goals. The bars are pretty good actually, and they do help curb thos chocolate cravings. However, i followed the plan religiously and it worked at a snails pace. I lost a total of 9 pounds on the plan in the span of 12 weeks, much less than they promise. My mom lost a lot of weight on it though, it works for some. However, it is very costly!! Caution to those who are budget minded!

L.A. Weight Loss was not even evaluated by Consumer Reports. That might be cause for concern.

The link will take you to those programs that were reviewed.

My husband and I have been on the La Weight Loss diet for about 4 months and so far we have seen great results. He has lost over 60lbs and I have lost over 40lbs. They are very expensive but so are allot of the other diet centers. They tried to get us to use the products they offer and when we told them that they were to pricey it was not an issue. They just changed the plan that they first had us on. We go to weigh in twice a week it is recommended that you go 3 times a week but that does not work for us. Foods are more limited then I expected but we cant all eat cake and cookies and loose weight! I am very happy that made chose La Weight Loss.
