In order to cut weight I did the typical low cal aka starvation method because I just didn't know any better. But combined with all the extreme levels of exercise I lost tremendous amounts of weight in a short period of time...of course I gained it all back just as fast. lol...

Reply by Cindy N

Sadly, I started my first diet when I was 16 after my volleyball coach told me I "could stand to lose a few pounds." He was fired a couple years after I graduated. I like to think it was because he was a jerk.

Marriage didn't send my weight up. It was those darn kids! I definitely ate for two (or three, or four) once I got past the morning sickness phase. Gained 65 pounds the first time. Lost it through various means. Gained 45 pounds with the second. Still working on l...

Reply by Angie H

I gained about 40 lbs in college, decided I needed to do something about it, started studying nutrition, and then used the lifestyle plan prescribed by the Zone Diet to shed it all.

Kept that off for a few years thanks to the nutrition education I developed, then got married. Gained it all back + 30 lbs! Needless to say, I wasn't eating healthily anymore. There is no excuse for it - I am all too aware of what made me fat this second time, and it was ME!!!!

Once I graduated from University I was able to control my weight more until I married then the yoyoing began again. In 1996-97 I really got everything where I wanted it to be and then I got pregnant! Enough said!

In 2003 I got everything back on track again and then in 2006 my husband started working in Alberta and...

Reply by Minu ~

ANGIE! I've missed you!

I too gained the big weight apres marriage. "Fat 'n happy" is the saying I believe? I'll take fit and fabulous over that any day.

We basically had a one-year honeymoon, paid thankyouverymuch, and MAN did we make the MOST of it.

And in my case, it wasn't the pill that added to the poundage, it was that damn depo provera, (and weight gain wasn't the scariest side effect of that stuff either, but that's subject for anot...

Reply by Angie lah

My curiosity got the best of me as well, Minu. Anywho... When I was younger, I didn't really need to diet. I was always active riding my bike or hiking even through high school. I got pretty serious about it my senior year and started going to the gym at 5:00a.m. before school started. Then I decided that I was going to eat hea...

Reply by Minu ~
