I have hit a huge stumbling block today. Maybe it was because of my whacked out lucid dreams preventing me from restorative sleep or something, but I just had no energy today. I thought about taking a nap between classes or something, but just had an orange instead. My energy level rose for a little while. This kinda leads me to believe I am not actually eating enough to keep myself working properly (if that makes sense).

FWIW, I had a tuna melt sandwich for lunch, celery and peanut butter as a snack, a tuna/cheese biscuit for a "Finally! Class is over for the day" snack (as well as a bit of the biscuit dough, man it is tasty [is that weird?]), another tuna melt for dinner, and a protein bar and shake after my workout.

So I think I will pack a few more sandwiches in my bag tomorrow to stave this off, but is this actually because my caloric intake is lower than usual and my body isn't used to it? Or is there something I am missing?

have you ever calculated how many calories your body needs (your bmr=basal metabolic rate=how many calories your body needs at rest)? if not you should google that info and do that and add on what kind of workout/activity you do for an approx of how many calories a day you burn and then you could see if you are egtting enough intake. maybe you are stressed, not getting enough sleep, dehydrated or other things that could be causing you to be tires as well.

I agree w/ Jenn on calculating the BMR + activity level (do this for your goal weight, not your current weight).

And also - I didn't see reference to breakfast?? Eating 5-6 meals/day, and drinking enough water, are important for your energy levels. I also recently had an issue with overtraining that was killing my energy, and after a week off I'm getting back to normal.

My BMR is about 1727. I come pretty close to that each day, maybe a little short though.

I do drink a ton of water and all but I simply can't wake up in time for a breakfast.

hard boil some eggs every week, eat the egg whites (3-6) with a fiber one bar or bowl of kashi, and take a piece of fruit w/ you on the way to work. You can wake up for breakfast, you only need 10min.

Is your BMR for your goal weight? Also, I don't think that includes activity level, which would probably increase it by about 20-30%...
