I am trying to get fit and thin so that I can stop being the 'man that keeps getting fatter' and to help get my triglyceride count down to normal levels.

Hi Jeff!
Sorry if you are offended, however...we are all adults here and the bottom line is....if YOU don't like something....than DON'T read it.
We would all LOVE to just come to this thred and get along, but there is a certain "type" of poster who likes to think they can bully new posters off the thred.....WRONG....that ain't happening!
I will vanquish these preditors and we can all have a more civilized discussion.

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

actually, it is hilarious. ANYWAY, does anyone want to talk about weight loss???
okay, i'm on like day eight of my nine day "cleanse" and i totally fell of the wagon today. i ate two soft pretzels, a granola bar with chocolate chips, and a packet of peanut chews. oh, and i had a pop tart tonight. BUT, i worked out for like forty-five minutes yesterday so i'm wondering if my body required more calories? or, maybe i'm just hoping it did and that's why i scarfed all of those yummy, delicious calories.
i didn't work out today, but i'm going to again tomorrow. i'll get back on the wagon, too, i guess. damn those carbs - they are so delicious.
and, p.s, thor, use spell check.

Heather - you might want to consider not having those sorts of snacks around if that's possible.... I find that even when I want to eat more than I should, the types of food I have accessible means I'm going to have either a bowl of kashi cereal, some cottage cheese, a veggie burger (w/ hot sauce and cheese), or a can of low cal/low sodium soup... It's no failure at all and I feel a lot better about myself.

Heather...
At the end of the day you must establish NEW habits. You seem like you are doing a great job....don't let mental weakness sabotage your goals.
I hate to say it but Dave the Hut has a point.....finally!
Let's discuss weight and disipline....
ISAGENIX...requires a high degree of disipline to be effective...not really a natural feeling for an over weight person. It will call for will power, intestinal fortitude, and yes....not giving into your desires.
It is not easy...there are unhealthy food sources ALL around us. Make the best food choice you can in ANY enviroment you are in. They make salad at McDonalds for cryin out loud! Breaking bad food habits are as difficult as breaking any other addiction.
A nine day cleanse is a tool to be used to break that vicious cycle nothing more or less. Then the system is all about maintance. Smart choices and keeping your body free of toxins.
Good luck Heather and the next time you have a craving for a snack....
I have got some Armenian sausage that is to die for! LOL!

Well I have to tell ya guys. We all know there are soooooo many get rich quick programs out there and lose weight fast programs. I for one will be taking Isogenix for two reasons one, the person who sold me on it is a Kinetics trainer (sports specific training) and I watched him shed 15 lbs on the 9 day, two, I work out like a mad man for weight loss and I'm getting results with my current program, however a 15-20lbs drop in 9 days will be nice. (This is the number I was given after my sales person watched me work out) Note: my work out is pretty intense, not heavy weights, just allot of Plyo and full body cardio.
Also, I too like many hate MLM scams, they are pricy and seem to be full of empty promises. However, Isogenix should be sold to people with the right attitude and intentions. These are people who work out or want to increase their activity level not for a couch potato who feels in nine days he's going to get miracles. So many people are delusional by fad diets. However, if you call it a diet then you have an issue as you should seek more of a change in you eating habits. Diets are a label to sell something that is temporary, eating habit is the method in which you eat every day, in result will determine your weight and health....Loosing weight only works if you change your lifestyle, break bad habits and eating patterns. So if you have not committed to a lifestyle change NOTHING will work for you!
Isogenix will work for those who want change and have made the commitment. If you make no commitment nothing works in life in general, so be realistic when look at these types of things. Also, sorry if I seem brash, it's just this fad diet thing seems to be never ending and we're always saying the same thing day in and day out. That sad though, let me through this at you. I eat complex Carbs, and alot of them and I have lost 15lbs and 2 inches off my waist in a month. Yes CARBS, and YES a MONTH…..YUMMY potatoes, rice, yams, pasta, corn all the things that we’ve been told not to eat for the past 10 year, no carbs? Nonsense! It’s really interesting to see the look on people’s faces when I tell them what I eat. Haha…Anyway, I could go on and on and on....
Someone on this site said “calories in vs. calories out” determines your weight….well they were right…if you sit on your duff all day and eat chips and snacks and crap, then you’ll get fat plane and simple. I know as I went from 180 to 230 in 2 years from sitting on my duff eat crap. However, if you sit on your duff all day and eat carrots, salad and healthy snack food and work out “properly” you will loose weight and inches. That said I am down to 210 but lost over three inches in my jeans, gone from a XL to a large or medium shirt. So I was fat at 230. I had wiggly man boobs and bad skin colour. That’s all changed now. Also, I found at this pint paying attention more to my body mass index vs my weight seems to be much more logical.
Anyway, I will let you all know how the Isogenix works. I am starting this week.
Live well, be well and don’t forget to smile at what pisses you off….haha

I would recommend throwing out the BMI and paying attention to your body fat %. I think BMI is just a horrible concept in terms of health - it implies that people are too stupid to understand BF%, it is not accurate in many cases, and is dumbing down our health care field.
Good luck, I would be interested to know if you lose that much in 9 days, and how that affects your body composition and energy levels.

And why do you insist on making inane, baseless, and completely illogical references to the sexual preferences of people you don't even know? What does this have anything to do with determining whether or not ISAGENIX is a legitimate product or pure snake oil? What do your blind accusations accomplish when you're trying to refute peoples' arguments that this thread has turned into a hapless pit of unsolicited remarks from windbags who feel the need to force their unsupported and unsubstantiated claims on the Traineo community?
Instead of countering Bourblaster or Dave's comments with well-reasoned arguments or counter claims, or anything that remotely resembles logic, you shoot off into these insipid, pointless, and chicken shit remarks that serve absolutely no purpose and that, in effect, demonstrate to everyone here how much of a mental midget you really are.
Your reluctance to handle yourself with any dignity or class is indicative of the serious issues and insecurities that, I am sure, plague your doltish, insignificant, and meaningless existence.
Why don't you stop hiding behind the veil of your childish absurdities and step up to the plate as adults would and engage people here in a civilized conversation?

Two words....SAVE IT! I'm sorry that you have a problem with the way I choose to defend myself.
I do like your picture of Dutch and Dillon, greeting in Preditor.
See here is where we get ourselves into situations that are NONE of your
concern, captain thuth and justice.
I am having fun with two haters and could care less about wether they use, like , or endorse Isagenix!
I use it, I'm health, and those two idiots are nothing more than my mental punching bags.
As for my "chicken shit" remarks....not sure what that even means....I can back my "shit" up. So...like YOU said...you don't know me at all....so watch where you go with that type of talk.
I have NO problem with open jousting, but when Whoreblaster called me out ...well...I'm not scared.
If I moved to a country and they took away my right to free speach...by all means let me know and I will sit back and act like I don't have the RIGHT to say what I want, when I want!
I will try and be more "PC" for you from now on... I mean I don't want you to think ill of me....Jericho...I promise to be less angry and more civilized.

Quoting: Adamevolution Jericho Lame....
Wow. I'm crushed.
Quoting: Adamevolution Two words....SAVE IT! I'm sorry that you have a problem with the way I choose to defend myself.
That's the thing. You're not defending yourself at all. All you're doing is making shit up and pulling at straws, that's it. If you drew your thoughts in a logical and rational manner that pertained directly to reality, no one here would have a problem with your "method" of "defending" yourself. As it stands, you're just blowing smoke.
Quoting: Adamevolution I can back my "shit" up
No, you can't. But what you have proved yourself adept at doing is spewing your childish garbage all over the place.
Quoting: Adamevolution you don't know me at all....so watch where you go with that type of talk.
That's right, I don't know you, per se. But what I do know of you is how you conduct yourself here, and that's all I really need to know to determine that you're batshit crazy. And watch where I go with this talk? What, are you going to shock and awe me with your cyclical pattern of vague, empty threats and sorry references to homosexuality?
Quoting: Adamevolution I have NO problem with open jousting
Neither do I. I love a good argument. The problem is, you're horrendous at it. By your picture (if that's really you) you appear to be, at the very least, in your mid-20's. However, judging by the juvenile jargon you've been haphazardly regurgitating in this forum, I would guess you're no more than 10 years old. And I'm just saying this based on the content of your statements, NOT on your inexcusably inadequate grammar skills.
Quoting: Adamevolution If I moved to a country and they took away my right to free speach...by all means let me know and I will sit back and act like I don't have the RIGHT to say what I want, when I want!
God you're in idiot. By all means, say what you want. That's not the point, and if you don't get that by now then, well, you're simply a bastion of mental futility. Go ahead, keep threatening people with your senseless ramblings about your "Armenian sausage", your joys of "cumming", and your infatuation with pure and unadulterated man love. You'll be the loser in the end, NO ONE else.

I'm going to say this ONE more time. I am ONLY here to run off people who are ONLY here to BASH Isagenix! I don't sell it, because I don't need to, I use it because it makes sense and works.
I also have NO problem with homosexuals, homosapians, or Women! I love them ALL!
I joke in a very sarcastic way and the internet sucks for the shear reason that strangers can't gauge the context of my content.
I'm not journalist or a spelling teacher, so I could care less about my spelling and your assessment.
I am actually 10....inches. I would like you to kindly stop flirting with me, my wife is gonna get jealous!
I can't have that! I know I look young but that's because of Isagenix and all the antioxidants, I'm 44!
Anywho...like I said captain obvious...don't you see it yet? Your so insightful and you know me soooo well from these low brow posts....tell me Frued.....what's wrong with me?
I think that I have Napolean syndrome with narsistic overtones...borderline bi-polar? LMAO
