I'm a network engineer in the Great Northwest and I co-host a podcast at geekfit.com with Jason Tucker (abstrakone).
When I started this journey in March 2005 I weighed around 400 lbs.
The thing that jarred me into motion was a picture my wife had taken on Christmas morning 2004. I was sitting in a low armchair wearing my usual outfit: sweats and a t-shirt. It went from belly to legs to feet -- no knees!! I said, "oh hell no."
I got myself a gym membership and started out swimming every morning. That progressed to the treadmill and finally to where I am today which is riding a bike 7-10 miles at a clip and playing DDR at the local bowling alley a few days a week.
It feels so good I think I'm going to keep going. ;)

No joke - a half pound of chicken. Tasty, though.

Man I haven't thought of bulk/cut/show diets in almost four years. One forgets how much of a machine you treat yourself like. I generally went to liquid/protein shake (proteinfactory.com) diets w/ grilled chicken and cans of tuna, efa/cla/other oils. It was just a gear shift I could enter for 3mos or so, but when you're trying to hit something <4%bf and not lose mass man you really have to dig hard to keep that balance.
I miss the ripped but I certainly don't miss the bipolar dieting hehe.

I am a contractor for a monolithic IT firm. This translates into a lot of time spent sitting. I have always been a big guy, but I am tired of being obese so I am going to utilize the power of community to hold my feet to the fire to stay active.

To risk a regional term "Uffda" fits the idea of eating 2lbs of chicken a day.
But the results look great and if it is something you really enjoy kudos to you and I hope your competition goes fantastic!

I'm supporting my wonderful man as he embarks on his journey of becoming physically fit. I love fitness and try to engage in vigorous exercise every single day. It makes you feel even more amazing than you end up looking! I would love to motivate others who are looking for a little push!

That would make me sick as a dog! But then again, I can only do about 50 push-ups...girly style.

I'm a typical stress eater, and I've been extremely stressed out for the past two years. Yeah, recipe for disaster! I can't say I look too bad, and the 22 fat kilos I want to lose to get back to my original weight do make me more curvaceous, but let's face it - it's just not who I am. To feel comfortable again, I definitely want to lose those extra kilos!
I'm mainly using Traineo to get some feedback, and to be able to keep track of my exercise. I only use the diet log sporadically, as the food itself isn't really my problem, but rather my notion of food as something that reduces stress.

250 grams = 1/4 of a kilo = approximately 0.5 lbs
2 lbs of chicken would be about 1 kilo (0.91) = 1000 grams
