Hey, I'm a lot like you...I need to lose weight. Started at 332 last year and my goal is 190-200.
Since we're in this together, I'm asking for an agreement. If you agree to motivate me, then I will absolutely commit to not wasting your time nor energy, to take your tips and motivation seriously and of course reciprocate to ANYBODY out there that is looking for an honest, candid and sincere motivator while changing their lifestyle.
Do we have a deal? (Handshake and a pat on the back!)
My podcast/blog is really just a way for me to remain accountable for my weekly progress and for once and for all change my life FOREVER.
I hope that I didn't bore you, but a profile (to me) is something that you can read, understand where I'm coming from and hopefully have a good, clear mental snapshot as to who is behind the typing.
I hope to help as much as possible as well as get valuable tips and support from this site. Thanks for reading and I hope that you'll come to me when you need motivation or a little kick to get you going. Man, my fingers hurt. My goal weight is per month, NOT the overall goal. I find that monthly goals are a lot more motivating and recognizable rather than saying "I need to lose 90 pounds or so".
Each month, my goal will change. BTW, my monthly goal is at least 8 pounds loss.
Peace and lets get going!

Hey Team!
I am involved with a project that is taking out my familiar and comfort zone as well as away from my family once in a while. I'm hanging with a lot of people who are fit but yet seem to eat on the run and whatever they want. I am trying to stick to my good eating, but the take out and catered meals (I'm involved with a production company and am being treated very nicely) are killing me. I found a gym, but having a hard time sticking to good eating in the hotel and on the job with unlimited food (chips, pretzels and everything else bad...), sodas and the like around. It's a junk food junkie's heaven...I hate this! Do I pack a backpack of nuts, tuna and shakes and look like a Richard Simmons junkie?
Help me out here please!
Thank, Dave

I am a slow runner, decent snowboarder, and aim for wiisports rookie of the year. I have strong legs, eastern european calves, and like to lift things my boyfriend thinks I can't. A busy and constantly changing schedule make it hard to get into and stay in a workout routine. I'm a crusader for medical scientific truth in nutrition and weight loss discussions and I heart fiber.

That's super hard, man. We have drug rep lunches at work every day, and I've learned the hard way that I can NOT resist eating everything I want when it's free, so I literally do pack my own whole lunch, and avoid the free stuff altogether. I wish I had more self control but I pat myself on the back for recognizing that I don't!

I always pack food for business trips. Since my diet always slopes to the path of least resistance, I need the healthy food in my bag or else I'll grab a Snicker's bar out of a vending machine instead of walking across the street for a healthy lunch.
So should you carry food with you? Probably. Will it make you look like a freak? Not at all. Once I started doing it, I noticed many other people did it too and for all sorts of reasons. Food allergies, choice preference, doctor's recommendation, vegan lifestyle, etc.

Definitelly take some food with you! The trick i use is pretty simple and makes me proud: I just tell everybody that i do not eat too much hard fats and bread and almost no sugar. The other day, a work collague had her birthday and i took half a slice of cake (while everbody else had 2 ) and later one girl came to me and asked me, she thought i never eat sugar or sweets at all, but i told her, always is not possible but i love keeping it to special occasions.
Just tell your co workers about your changes, they will appreciate it! A healthier worker is a better worker!

Transplant to Seattle from St. Louis. Use to cycle pretty competitive a few years back but gave it all up for a sexy job working out of a cube for a bank.
Aside from the obvious health benefits, realizing if I don't make a change now I'll be forced to buy a new wardrobe.

Another thing that works for me is to be sure to fill up on water (and carry a bottle of water with you when you are in the food line).. the extra water will make you feel full and the bottle in your hand will keep you from getting two plates
