I hope to have a bikini body for this summer.
I was more fit when I was back in college. (which was 2 years ago)
I'm stuck in this cycle of the YO YO diet. I'll work out and eat right for six months then it all goes down hill for the rest of the year.
So one day I googled a fitness support group and came upon traineo. I'm glad I did!

I started on a serious weight loss program in September of 2006. My starting weight was 242 pounds. I'm 5' 5" tall. My current weight is 180 pounds. I was determined to do it on my own - no paid programs, pills, etc. My goal is to be 165. As of 12/1/07 - I've met my goal of 165!. Now for 2008 I'm going to focus on maintaining. Any additional lost pounds will be a bonus.
New Year and I've decided to set a new goal. I'm striving for 145 pounds. 1/30/08 - down 5 pounds....

I like low-fat tortilla chips and salsa! Also, boiled chicken fills me up and satisfies. When I'm in a bind or have a hectic schedule I'll eat a Kashi protein bar - these things really stay with you and keep you satisfied.

Raw veggies are a great way to fill up without adding a lot of calories. Get the pre cut kind and they are a quick snack.

I am a slow runner, decent snowboarder, and aim for wiisports rookie of the year. I have strong legs, eastern european calves, and like to lift things my boyfriend thinks I can't. A busy and constantly changing schedule make it hard to get into and stay in a workout routine. I'm a crusader for medical scientific truth in nutrition and weight loss discussions and I heart fiber.

Adding some beans (e.g., garbanzo) to salads can be filling.
Also, I find that when I combine a carbohydrate (e.g., bread) with a protein (e.g., sliced turkey) and a little fat (1/2 tablespoon mayo) I'm always more full than if I just each a carbohydrate or protein by itself.

Looking to add some muscle over the next few months. Trying to get in those calories and focusing on the compound lifts. We'll see how it all goes :)

If ya make a protein shake add some 'thickener' spoonful or two (max) of a natural gumming agent can really do wonders.

I would love a motivator, if you could be mine that would be great.
I'm a grad student, finding my weight has crept up recently, not helped by busy schedule and abundance of unhealthy food choices on campus. Also being tempted (and generally unable to resist) buying junk food when grocery shopping.
I know that we're supposed to lose weight for health's sake, but to me the biggest issue is self-esteem and being single.

there's a place near my work that does a 'design your own salad'. essentially you have a base of lettuce, then add 7 other ingredients to it (e.g., carrots, tomatos, celery, cucumber, onion, corn, pumpkin, olives, chilli, capsicum, crutons, beans, peas, cheese), each ingredient is about 1/2 handful. then you can choose which type of salad dressing you want.
so essentially, depending on your choices, you can have a different salad each day.
you can try making something like that for yourself.

I have the problem also where my appetite far exceeds what I actually need to eat so I can see your dilemma.
Methods I use is to eat high nutrient dense foods which fill me up quicker. Definitely vegetables for me which I never count the calories of anyway, and swap sources like beans and quinoa for any rice and pasta dishes.
It is easy for me as I know I work well with protein so I just cut my carb soures and I'm good.
Staying hydrated can help as well

Raw veggies and fruits. Apples work very well for me, grape is also OK, but it's very high in sugar. For veggies, raw carrots and kohlrabi are great. Water helps, too.

Wikipedia is your friend. Kohlrabi is a low, stout cultivar of the cabbage that will grow almost anywhere.

Rachael, I'm not sure how popular kohlrabi is in the US, but given that I've first seen it written in the dictionary, I guess it isn't that very popular It's widely known, though less frequently used here in Hungary, Europe. It tastes pretty much like raw cabbage or cauliflower, but it has a milder taste so it can be consumed raw.
