The oven we have (and I guess many in Australia) have a grill under the oven so its seperate, but works in the same was as a bbq in which theres a few grills that warm up and it cooks it and fat drains away.

I know what shawn suggested sounds really healthy but it would be rather difficult for me to make the batter and all. And since everyone else in the house eats fish I think they might say its a waste considering I don't lik...

Reply by Neesha D

Shawn gave a recipe for fish fingers that would be healthier than the ones out of the boxes, and probably taste better too. If you can eat the frozen fish fingers, I'm not sure why these would be any different.

If you're just looking at eating fish for omega 3's, there are other sources - including fish oil capsules, flax seed, and walnuts. Besides, not all fish are 'equal' in terms of omega 3's, and other nutritional benefits.

As for eating the frozen ones,...

Reply by Something Dark Side

Shawn, well I know that sounds healthy but... I don't eat fish exactly. That's what I mean, I can eat fish fingers though because it's not that full on fish flavour.

So all in all, frozen fish fingers that you can buy, if they are grilled would that be better than not having them at all and is it healthy?...

Reply by Oliver Maton

thanks for the tip shawn

I find that if I buy quality capsules and store them in the freezer I don't burp them up or suffer any side effects from them. I buy Twinlab products from VitaCost dot com. Take your fish, cut into strips.

Dip in Egg whites (vs whole egg if you want it a little healthier)

Then dip into an batter of crushed corn flakes with seasoning.

Bake them till done. Healthy, not fried and taste good. Dip in some salsa for a low cal taste improvement too

Reply by stuper man

Why not try making your own??? i make fish cakes as i'm not a big fan of fish and cook them in the oven for about 15mins quick and simple and cheap too

Reply by Dean Grimshawe

Certainly won't kill you, but it won't do much else for you either.

But what if I grill the fish fingers?

Reply by Matt A.

Quoting: WikipediaFish fingers are popular with children and their parents as an easy-to-prepare finger food that is somewhat healthy for kids, as fish contains many nutrients including Omega-3, and small amounts of fried foods are not incompatible with an over-all healthy diet.

Reply by Something Dark Side

Hey everyone, I know I havent been around for a while but i'm back and trying to get back into shape. I was slowing losing my form but i've put my foot down.

I was wondering, since I really don't like seafood, if I ate fishfingers (which for some reason I can) will it give me the omega 3 and everything I need that's in fish?

Is it a healthy choice if I grill it?

Thanks ...
