This has been by far my biggest challenge. I am a person that loves to eat rich foods, cheese, etc. I especially love my hard cider, and can't always resist the temptation when out with co-workers or my softball team. It is killing my diet, I think.

How do you guys stay on the dietary track? I really hate veggies. I'll eat them, though it's hard to do when I want something delicious.

Harpoon Cider only has 10 grams of carbs, and is 140 calories.

Far better than most of the other crap out there, which has a shit ton of added sugar. I'd say just have Harpoon and work out a bit harder the next day.

I've never seen Harpoon Cider. I'll have to check around for it.

Thanks for the tip!

I don't know if this statement will have the same awesome effect on you as it did on me. But when my coach told me this, it was kind of like a light bulb went off in my head. I was making some excuses, and he simply says, "You've either got your diet under control or you don't." That was kind of a turning point for me.

Honestly? I really suck at keeping my diet on track. I love to nibble, and my friends' obesity is probably contagious.

But if I have a snack I didn't plan on, I eat less for dinner, or lunch, to balance it out. And I cut out any food with high fructose corn syrup, aspartame, or hydrogenated oils. It cut back calories a lot.

Yeah, I avoid those like the plague too.

I'm a big fan of splenda. heh.

What's wrong with aspartame?

There is a lot of controversy surrounding it. It apparently gets broken down and ends up being fire ant poison (don't know the technical name). Anything to me that is questionable to my health, I avoid; it's just not worth the chance. Another little thing about aspartame is it's made by Monsanto (they bought the people who made it out), and Monsanto makes tons of poisons, from agent orange during Vietnam to Roundup: that alone concerns me.
