A very well written piece on Slate.

Those of us who want to avoid the social nightmare have to hide our vegetarianism like an Oxycontin addiction, because admit it, omnivores: You know nothing about us. Do we eat fish? Will we panic if confronted with a hamburger? Are we dying of malnutrition? You have no clue. So read on, my flesh-eating friendsâ€"I believe it's high time we cleared a few things up.

Looks like someone follows Fark too! Personally, I got a kick out of the headline too:

Quoting: Fark.com
[Slate] [Interesting] The US has 10 million vegetarians and 290 million normal people

My philosophy is: Whatever blows your hair back/skirt up/floats your boat.

Too many people take exception to anyone that doesn't live the way they do. Perhaps because they are confronted with having to evaluate their own choices? I don't know, I just have more pressing concerns than what food choices another human makes.

Eat or don't eat whatever you like, I for one, will not judge you for it.

Haha. That's a good article.

I was turned off by the pescetarian comment. It really is the rhetoric of someone who is a vegetarian for ethical reason. But, I'm a pescetarian (i eat fish and dairy products) simply because I chose to have a different diet. Being in college, I'm sort of forced into a situation of crappy food. The things I have learned as a vegetarian have allowed me to reevaluate the way I eat, and to eat better things.

But still, good article though. Gotta love the hemp connection from intro to outro. Sign of a good writer.
