So I am trying to start counting my calories and I have no idea whatsoever how many calories various fruits and vegetables are such as apples and oranges. If someone could help me figure that out I would be thankful. Also, do I keep track of calories from fat and how many of those do I want to try and limit myself to? If anyone has any tips regarding counting cal intacake id be more than happy to hear them.

Just a brief bit about myself. I am a college senior who stopped playing sports in college. I guess I didn't realize how much weight a sport kept off(water polo). In about the four years here I have put on roughly forty lbs which is way too much for my body type. I am finally excersizing daily like my old high school days, but I need to understand callorie counting to make my diet better.

Thanks for all your advice,
Dave

fitday.com has been a gawdsend for me as far as calories are concerned. You can count calories, but it also tells you how much protein/fat/carbs you've eaten during the day

Is that worth paying for spike or did you use the free version?

oh, I'm too cheap to pay for it

The free (online) version is more than fine imho, and it gives me everything I need - I think the only reason I'd ever pay for it would be to be able to install the software on my computer - but my internet connection works fine, so for me there's no need
