I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

Quoting: malibublue Popped 3 pack of gu in the Marathon. Ate a banana, orange, bagel and a powerbar in the finish festival. Then, buffet in a Japanese seafood resturant. A big salman salad for dinner. Uncountable calories!
I knew I wanted to run a marathon one day for a reason
I'm kind of enjoying running again, though I've been really tired and hungry... I think I'm going to have to start stocking up on baby carrots or something that will help keep me full w/out making me gain more weight!
B - oatmeal w/ cottage cheese
S - string cheese and baby carrots
going to use water to keep me satiated for a bit, but looking forward to a pb sandwich soon...

Quoting: lglcctj I'm on the poor man's diet, which consequently will help with eating healthier, LOL
Careful! This one is usually what kills my diet... Pasta is cheap and fruit/veggies are expensive... I've pretty much eaten everything in my house, though, excepting several cans of beans and a bunch of wheat pasta. I need to restock, throw out anything that isn't healthy, and make sure to budget for things to snack on that won't hurt.
One thing that helps is cooking at home - I can get a couple lbs of ground turkey, or a pork roast, and cook that w/ beans, veggie, and spices and it will be lunches for a week and some dinners. The trick w/ the pork roast is to pull the pork so it creates a more dense dish. Cook up some brown rice/quinoa/barley to go w/ it and you have SEVERAL satisfying meals that can be kept frozen for a couple months.

Quoting: parahacker What's a good FAST way for me to estimate calorie intake without sacrificing my cooking style and eating prepackaged junk or using the same ingredients every time?
And is there a way on Traineo to log WHAT I eat instead of just the calories I eat?
Try this site for counting calories. Click on calories burned calculator and then Activity calculator. It has a very thorough list of foods.
Also you cannot use Traineo to log what you eat. Use thedailyplate.com or some other site if you want to track that.

I usually get it for 1.99/lb... it's 93% lean, so a LOT cheaper than ground beef, though from a consistency perspective it doesn't hold up quite as well. Makes good burgers, but I generally just make 'pot-o-stuff' that is easy to throw into a container for work.

I love to eat. Carbs is my weakness link that I always lose control in front of it.
I started running for fitness in 2007. Ever since I finished the 1st marathon (San Diego RnR 2007), I am addicted to running.
I started traineoing in Nov 2007. I have reached my goal weight in Jun 08 already. But, now, I don't care much about my weight. I care about it only if it affects my running performance.

Hi, first time I post here...
So, you here, just post what you eat, to keep track on others? Look good idea
But I get bored counting calories.... And without counting, what is the purpose? I tried some of the webs for count calories, quite inaccurate, so how you use to do it??
