Snack: 2 slices lunch meat and 3 cheese cubes (100)
Lunch: Cinco de Mayo lunch out with a group of people. I did eat some chips and salsa but really not too much. And my dish was super healthy. It was a salad with lettuce, peppers, tomato, a little cheese, avocado and grilled shrimp. Yum!! I'm gonna guess 450 Cal.

d - some pasta concoction made by hubby -- used Barrilla plus Pasta. I limited myself to one cup of the stuff. Had the penne pasta, left over chicken, mushrooms, and tomato sauce, topped with some Parmesean Cheese.

Dessert - fresh mango and about a half cup of Cool Whip.

What's bialy?

I'm guessing it's something wonderful from Whole Foods; I really wish we had one of those around here!!!

Supper:
-- 3 homemade chicken strips (dipped in egg whites, then dipped in crushed whole grain crackers, sesame seeds, crushed almond slices, then browned in a pan with a bit of olive oil, then baked)
-- rice pilaf (or our version of it anyway: brown rice cooked in a low fat, low sodium broth, tossed in a non-stick pan with egg whites, and a mixture of sauteed broccoli/onions/mushrooms)
-- small salad (sweet butter lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, dried cranberries, toasted almond slices, no dressing necessary!)

Evening snack will be a 1/2 cup of fresh strawberries and blueberries!

Water: 3 litres (12 cups) total for the day.

A good day of eating!

B: Oatmeal (cooked)+applesauce 1/2cup
S: mini blueberry muffin 1, pear 1
L: Panera pick2(grilled salmon salad, turkey chickpea chilli soup), samples of tomato basil bread
S: baby carrots 200g, lowfat cottage cheese 1
Pre-WO+D:Oatmeal (Cooked), chicken 2 oz, apple 1
Post-WO:blackberries 100g, egg white 1, hard boiled egg 1
~1500cal

I gave myself B today: not enough protein in breakfast, mini muffin was a no no! Had an apple instead of leafy veggie was not very good also. But, I did not overeat like the weekend. Things are getting back on track this week.

Jen, I could not find 1 servicing cottage cheese in small container in Wholefood. But, I found it in another supermarket. It is Knusden. It tastes great and very filling also. I love it. The smoke turkey in the WholeFood deli is a bit dry for me. I think I will have to look for other alternative.

BTW, I have tried mixing the applesauce in cooked oatmeal. It tastes so good. I will try mixing cooked oatmeal with cottage cheese next time.

You guys sicken me! It's Cinco Di Mayo! Am I the only person who took their cheat meal today?

Breakfast: Glass of milk and a protein bar
Pre-Lunch Snack: Handful of raw almonds
Lunch: Chicken breast with bbq sauce, grilled mixed veggies and some roasted potatos
Post-Lunch Snack: Fuji Apple and a few more raw almonds
Dinner: "Mexican" crappy food at an office party (2 wedges of cheese quesadillas, 1 beef hard taco, 4 or so of the smallest buffalo wings you've ever seen, 1/4 of a beef chimichanga and a plate of fruit... all spread over the course of roughly 2 and a half hours)
Post-Dinner Snack: handful of raw almonds

Water: ~100oz.

laura-a bialy is like a bagel but thinner- i got it from the bagel store (all carbs!). do you have fairway or trader joes near you? it seems like you are doing really well w/o whole foods. you dont need whole foods to eat well at all. you can find everything you need at a regular supermarket.

glovia-im glad you liked the applesauce with the oatmeal; let me know if you like it with the cottage cheese; i never eat the turkey plain-i always put dressing or mayo on it. it would be too dry for me plain also. im surprised whole foods didnt have the cottage cheese but im glad you found it somewhere else. i guess every whole foods has diff choices. also, for protein i buy their whole chickens and you can ask them to cut it into quarters for you free of charge and they are seasoned or plain and you can have pieces of chicken ready to eat as well.

Newbie here. Thanks for this site, this forum, these folks! BTW, today is low-cal on purpose!

(64 oz. H20)

b: yoghurt, nf milk, strawberry smoothie (150 kcal)

elevenses: a granola bar of some sort (150 kcal)

l: salad w/ spring lettuces, egg white, balsamic (50 kcal)

s1: went to Fresh Market and got "fixings" for a real smoothie: yoghurt, nf milk, GreensPlus, ground flaxseed, B complex, rice protein, melons (200 kcal)

s2: big fresh salad w/grated carrots, yoghurt + grey salt + balsamic dressing, spring lettuces, arugula (100 kcal).

Feel good despite super-dooper stress at work today--I think the B complex is helping, as will a yoga practice once I've digested a bit...

Jen, don't know why, I never like mayo. It is not really the taste. I just don't like the way it look on food. I think I will continue to look for low sodium deli meat for snack.

Today:
B: apple 1, oatmeal (cooked in water) 1/2 cup
S: baby carrot 200g, egg white 1
L: Panera pick2 (sesame chicken salad, turkey chickpea chilli), wholegrain baguette 2oz
S: banana 1, peanut butter 2 tsp
PreWO: oatmeal 1/3cup, peanut butter 2 tsp, some soybeans
PostWO+Dinner: Tuna 2 oz, blueberries 50g, orange 1, some soybeans
~1500cal.

I gave myself B today. I should have more leafy veggie in dinner.
