I have not stopped by Wholefood this weekend to find the turkey and cottage cheese yet, Jen. I will next week.

English muffin is better than the American muffin, right?

I am so happy today since it is supposed to be carb load day before the Half marathon. I can unleash myself to eat carbs and I can argue with my nutritionist with valid/strong reasons.

B: ¼ cottage cheese, almond 0.5 oz, soy milk 1 cup, blackberries 100g
S: baby carrots 200g, Nature granola bar ½, blackberries 100g
L: Goat cheese salad in citrus vignette, English pea soup, 1 bite of my bf’s kobe burger (planned to have a big pasta dish. But, the goat cheese salad looks too good to resist. )
S: apple 1, almond 0.5oz
D: don’t know yet. I need carbs,…may be multigrain rice and grilled chicken.

I gave myself A today even dinner has not set yet. Today is an exception carb load day. And, I got 2 free-drink Starbust coupons from the health expo today and passed by Starbust a few times. But, I did not go in to get any of sugar/cream loaded drinks at all. I rather save the calories for carbs. I think I am coool...!

glovia-enjoy those carbs and let us know about the half!! i dont know what you mean by the "american muffin." do you mean breakfast muffins? english muffin is bread/carbs-but you can get whole wheat english muffins-still carbs though but better choice than a sugary breakfast muffin i would think.

b-whole wheat english muffin, cottage cheese, banana, 12 almonds

Friday I did really well. Dinner we ate out for a friend's birthday and I did great!! I had about 6 fried crab legs and 8 or so fried calamari rings, but they were very small. Then for my entree, I got grilled mahi mahi with black eyed peas and greens. So I was pretty proud of myself.
Friday Total: 1800 Cal

Sat was a feast at Grandma's house. It was part of the reason that I was so good last week. I wanted to be able to eat at Grandma's without feeling too bad about it so I had a lot of food on Saturday.

Yesterday:
Breakfast: Oatmeal bar and 8 ounces of apple juice (350)
Lunch: Lasagna and snacked on a few other things, but not too much (600)
Dinner: Sun school party - chips and cheese dip, grilled chicken, green beans, some kind of pineapple, cheese, cracker casserole, then ... (750)
Dessert dun dun dun. I would have been fine if I had only had a little dessert but I wound up eating too much of it. I had like 5 mini-cookies and a mini-cupcake then a piece of angel food cake with strawberries and cool whip. Oh well. (400)
Total: 2100

Today:
Breakfast: egg white and steak omelet (300) And it was a lot of food!!

B. Cottage cheese, Banana, English muffin (240)
(I am ashamed to post my lunch... but here goes)
L. Mc Donalds Crispy Chicken Club and Fries (1060)

So much for my run today. Ah well back on the bandwagon for dinner. Can't let one slip up bring me down. Not even sure why I got the McDs... Don't feel very well after eating it. I guess it was just a poor choice.

This morning I had a pancake breakfast. I'm estimating it to be around 1200 calories (too much syrup). But I burned off a good 1300 calories at the gym afterwards, so I'm good to go

Hey... a good way to go with pancake syrup is to make a quick fruit syrup.

Here's what I do, I take a half cup of frozen blueberries, add a tablespoon of raspberry flavored Splenda syrup (honey would also do if you don't do artificial sweeteners), add a LITTLE guar or xanthan gum and nuke in the microwave. Can't remember how long, but probably around a minute. Stir.

Result... quick and easy fruit topping for pancakes. I'm sure it would work with other frozen berries as well. Could also be combined with plain yogurt.

I felt that way after my race too! I ate quite a lot of simple carbs that day and the day after and I still lost 2 1/2 lbs that week so don't sweat the simple carbs after an event that is physical exhausting.

Dinner: Tuna salad on a bed of romaine with tomato wedges. Yummy! (500)
Dessert: Little bit of ice cream (100)
Total: 1600

Today:
Breakfast: whole wheat bagel with crunchy honey PB (400)

Lunch: box lunch at work. Boo. I did well with it though. I ate the pasta salad and so-so fruit. I ate the chicken, lettuce, tomato, and cheese and left the bun. Skipped the brownie. Then I ate a hard boiled egg when I got back to my desk. (400)
