Hi everyone! This is my first post so here goes!
I just had a Rosemary chicken and wild rice lean cuisine and a V8 with a side of cantelope. yummy!! For breakfast I had Weight Control banana bread oatmeal and a glass of 1% milk. (prefer Maple/Brown Sugar) but with only 160 cal when made with water, it's a great way to start the day!!

I just had shrimp fajitas with rice and beans. I didn't really eat much rice or beans...mostly tortillas and the shrimp. I don't think it was too bad...maybe 500 calories at the most.
And I had a lean cuisine earlier...390 calories

I just chowed down a big Lamb's lettuce/Arugula salad with a bit o' balsamic and a tablespoon of shredded Parmesan, tagged with a small bowl of All Bran and skimmed milk with cinnamon and a few almonds.
And with this, the day of nibblin' is done...

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

I love to eat. Carbs is my weakness link that I always lose control in front of it.
I started running for fitness in 2007. Ever since I finished the 1st marathon (San Diego RnR 2007), I am addicted to running.
I started traineoing in Nov 2007. I have reached my goal weight in Jun 08 already. But, now, I don't care much about my weight. I care about it only if it affects my running performance.

B: Banana 1, peanut butter 2 tsp, soy milk 1/2 cup
S: Dannon yogart 1, baby carrot 100g
L: Panera pick2 combo(Asian sesame chicken salad, black bean soup), tomota basil bread sample
S: deli ham 2, apple 1
Pre-WO: raw oatmeal+applesauce 1/2 cup, almond 1 oz
Post-WO+D: Orange roughy 2.5oz, pineapple 100g, soybean 100g
~1600 cal
I gave myself B today. Failed at the temptation of the tomato basil bread sample. But, it tasted so good.
Other than that, I have a lot more protein in snack compared to before. no coffee at all today. Only water and green tea the whole day.

Right now I'm enjoying 1/2 cup quinoa, 1/3 cup bulgar, (good mix as they both have the same cooking time), and a cup of steamed red cabbage dressed in a lil soy sauce, sesame oil, nutritional yeast, garlic 'n fresh ground pepper.
I was just craving quinoa. "If--they---could---see me now, those little partyin' friends o' mine..." They'd surely think I was NUTS.
Ooooo, crumbled cashews would be great in this.

Dinner: brown rice, flounder, cocktail sauce, stir fry veggies, wheat thins with sea food dip, salad with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and lite ranch (600)
Dessert: 2 pieces dark chocolate (100)
Total: 1800 - I ate a little more than I meant to but it probably had something to do with the swings from nauseous to ravenous yesterday (being a woman sucks sometimes)
Today:
Breakfast: Aunt Jamima pancakes with sugar free syrup and 2 sausage links (400)
Good job running in the morning Cardio!!!

Quoting: drewba Hey Joe, how do you prepare your steel cuts oats? I tried one time and failed miserably, they were like eating pebbles.
I prepare them in the microwave. They are the Mcann's Quick Steel Oats. I add about 1/4 cup of water at a time (I believe it needs 3/4 cup of water total) and have to watch it carefully in the microwave (They will boil over easily). I use hot water from my work's coffee machine. I steadily add water as it cooks more. Make sure you have a deep bowl as well or you will have a big mess
If I am in a hurry, I will eat the steel cut oats raw. They have a nutty constancy that is like eating raw nuts.
