For anyone who struggles with eating right, this thread's for you!!!
You can post what you ate, plan on eating, or are tempted to eat here and get the support and accountability you may require.
As for me...it's time to eat! HOORAY BREAKFAST!
I'm having oatmeal and breakfast tacos. Sounds like a lot, I know, but I plan on eating salad for the rest of the day (helps me eat healthy and it'll expire in a few days as well).
What about you?

I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

Those waffles sound yum! I had a bowl of Kashi this morning, been too busy/lazy to make the morning omelett lately.
Unfortunately Last night I had 1.5 bowls whole grain pasta and 2 slices of whole grain/nut bread w/ olive oil spread. But I made up for it by sleeping for 11.5 hours

I think 3 Kashi waffles have around 250 Cal in them. I round everything. It's too hard to keep up with exact numbers. Oh, and I had the blueberry kind this morning. Extra yum!

Yeah, I think I needed it! I was dragging a bit and still sore from Monday's workout. I'm trying to balance things a bit better, and I find that about once a week I need to come home from work, do my crap, and just go to bed. With my new 'outlook', it's kind of nice - I don't feel bad about it at all
For food, I'm getting ready for my string cheese and an orange... then later I have my ground turkey/tuna/bean lunch w/ some hot sauce... pb sandwich and another orange this afternoon.

I treated myself to a 6" chicken breast sub with toasted wheat bread. I needed something nice to cheer me up as my Van broke down today during one of my delivery runs, and I was stuck on the motorway for a couple of hours, now i'm hideously behind my workload and have to forget about taking some holiday time off today (I was going to leave at 1.30) instead i'm here all day, so p*****d off!
But, I've dropped another 1.5lb this week so far since monday so all is well. I've dropped some carbs for a few days, and will 're-feed' on friday, this seems to working quite well, my daily fluctations are less than 0.5lb per day.
Tonight, I'll have some minced turkey, spring greens, with stir-fried beens and carrots, and maybe a bit of my easter-egg

I currently work as a Software Developer. However, this coming September I will be returning to school to get a M.Sc in Computer Science.
Unlike most people, I actually found being in school the best thing for my weight and health. I was a pretty small kid up until my family moved to Calgary when I was entering 6th grade. Since we lived outside a city and I had no friends within walking/biking distance I started to read more and more (I was already an avid reader, but was now reading about a book a day). So of course, my weight increased a lot over the following years even though I tried soccer for a couple of years, as well as baseball and basketball.
However, at University things seemed to click. I didn't like the food, so I ended up eating quite healthy, and small portions of everything else (since that's all I could handle). In my first year I went to a few cardio classes with my roommate. Second year, my old roommate and some new friends ended up roller blading almost 30 mins every day. Third year I moved to an apartment that required a 20 min walk to campus (so 40 mins minimum daily). And finally 4th year, I had the campus walk as well as I took up climbing (was going about 2 - 3 times a week). After graduating last fall and starting work, and having most of my friends desert me :(, I joined a gym.
Even with all this extra exercise that I've been adding every year I find my weight still likes to hover around 155 - 158. I have seen changes though. When I started Uni, I was wearing around a size 12 - 14, and I now wear a 6 - 8. But I don't seem to see any changes on the scale. I hover right on the border line between healthy and overweight on the BMI scale.
I've tried counting calories, and really, all it made me do was focus way to much on what I was eating and it made me hungrier. I don't really eat when I'm stressed, as much as I eat when I'm bored. So work can sometimes be a challenge, although I pack my lunch carefully so that I have extra snacks if I need them, but not too much so I can't really over eat by too much. My evenings are the worse if I can't distract myself and that's probably when I consume by far the largest part of my caloric intake.
Anyway, I'm hoping to finally manage to lose some weight, although I will be satisfied if I can just see my stomach shrink instead. :) I've started the couch potato to 5k running routine and will continue to actively try to get to the gym to do some weights, as well as climb at least once a week. Wish me luck. :)

Been making my lunch this morning. Have a mini bagel with apple butter, a mini cucumber, two small tomatoes (don't remember brand) babybel cheese and some space left over. So will add grapes, piece of smoked turkey and possibly mashed potatoes or yellow/red pepper depending on what looks best in the fridge.

When I started to study while having a full-time job at the same time, I allowed my appetite and my body to do whatever they wanted as my mind was occupied with gathering knowledge. Meanwhile my body gathered fat.
One day I got on a scale and hated the result more than usual. So it's either ending up with wobbly body parts or feeling good about myself.

I feel a little bit stuffed now... but work was tough today, so I deserve it.

For lunch:
Salad with about 4 cups of fresh spinach leaves, 3 cups of mixed lettuce. Sprinkling of carrots, mushrooms, chickpeas, and olives.
About 2 oz of grilled chicken
Tablespoon of shredded mozzarella cheese
Drizzle of olive oil and 1.5 oz of Light Italian dressing
I'm guessing it's somewhere around 200-250 calories

I've always been bigger. Maybe not classified as being fat because I carry it pretty well. But, well, I'm fat. There's no fooling myself. In January, months of hard work paid off as my wife got pregnant with what will be our first child. I had been exercising a bit until that point, but I decided to ramp it up a notch and get my weight to where I can be healthy and be around a long time for my wife and kid.
I've been known to drop 40-50 pounds in 5 months or so on a few occasions, only to slowly gain that weight back over a couple years. This time is different. I know everybody says that and usually that statement doesn't come to fruit, but I've got that incentive...becoming a daddy.
Got a blog rolling- rokandroll.blogspot.com
I post on it a few times a week. Mostly fitness stuff. I try to be somewhat humorous. Check it out if you're REALLY bored.

lunch (w/ coworkers!):
i had an egg salad on 9-grain (ate the whole thing! it was so yummy!), a handful of chips, half a cup of chicken soup...i estimated the whole thing to be around 1,100 calories. (ouch!)
i'm at about 1,400 calories for the day. i might need to take it easy for the rest of the afternoon and evening....maybe a light dinner in between yoga and the studio!
