so recently my nutritionist upped my calories and changed my meal plan and ive been exploring a variety of foods. so tonight i went to wholefoods and decided to try a meal recommended by my nutritionist. it was a large meal. i am not trying to lose weight. i am trying to gain muscle and i workout frequently. anyway, as i am enjoying my dinner a woman comes up to me and says "wow, that is alot of food you are eating. what a big piece of lasagna!" i responded "yes, it is." she just ruined my entire meal. why do people care/comment? yes, i did finish the whole meal, by the way.
what do you think i should have said to this "%%%&&**? she really pissed me off! lol. im over it now.

Success is not a race, be patient. Success leads to success. Success is always a work in progress. Success doesn't come to you--you go to it. Success is a journey, not a destination. Focus on the process. Some people dream about success... while others wake up and work hard at it. Success is achieved and maintained by those who try-and keep trying. Everyday is a good day to SUCCEED! If at first you don't succeed-try, try again

I love to eat. Carbs is my weakness link that I always lose control in front of it.
I started running for fitness in 2007. Ever since I finished the 1st marathon (San Diego RnR 2007), I am addicted to running.
I started traineoing in Nov 2007. I have reached my goal weight in Jun 08 already. But, now, I don't care much about my weight. I care about it only if it affects my running performance.

Jen, take it as compliment. If I were you, I would say thanks. And then pointing to my body said I can handle it and I have room for them.

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they haev to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary.
Impossible is NOTHING.

Quoted for truth.
People who make comments like that tend to be insecure and are trying to bring you down, in my opinion, the best thing you can do to someone like flip it on them and show them how it doesn't bother you.

http://anotherfatguy.wordpress.com/ I'm looking at a total weight loss of over 130 lbs (60 kg for those of you in Europe like me...), from 150 kg to 90 kg (330 lbs to 198 lbs). I'm a 36 year old man and am REALLY tired of... well being tired.
So far I've been training like a mofo, and have totally revisited my diet - so far so good, 1/3 of my goal HAS been met - YIPPEE!!
Have met some great people here, and looking forward to meeting even more here on traineo - don't be afraid to bombard me with motivation - I'll take all you can give me :)

I can't wait until I've lost my weight - A big lasagna sounds sooo good!
On the other hand, my recipe for lasagna should probably be mentioned on the "20 worst foods" list. Human beings weren't meant to eat so much cheese!
Oh yeah, did I mention that cheese is my FAVOURITE sin? Some of the other 7 deadly ones figure high on the list too, but cheese gluttony...

I'm a dancer, just now learning how to take better care of my body! I'm also a foodie and an advertising professional - not sure which of the three I like best. I like snowboarding, calico kittens, collecting badass hoodies and sneakers, poker, crude humor, the fine arts, and colorful socks.

Jen,
When I was into lifting back in the day, and I'd be out chowin' down with a buddy and someone would make a comment like that, even if it was with a smile, I'd just make a bicep twitch, or my pecs jump up and say, "In training", with an eyebrow raise and that always shut 'em down.
Got 'em thinking too sometimes too.
ENJOY THE FEEDINGS!

At the end of the day if you want high performance you need a lot of the right fuel. You'll find these same people in 6 months time looking across and asking for more of what she's having.

I've always been bigger. Maybe not classified as being fat because I carry it pretty well. But, well, I'm fat. There's no fooling myself. In January, months of hard work paid off as my wife got pregnant with what will be our first child. I had been exercising a bit until that point, but I decided to ramp it up a notch and get my weight to where I can be healthy and be around a long time for my wife and kid.
I've been known to drop 40-50 pounds in 5 months or so on a few occasions, only to slowly gain that weight back over a couple years. This time is different. I know everybody says that and usually that statement doesn't come to fruit, but I've got that incentive...becoming a daddy.
Got a blog rolling- rokandroll.blogspot.com
I post on it a few times a week. Mostly fitness stuff. I try to be somewhat humorous. Check it out if you're REALLY bored.

I've been active my entire life. From growing up playing soccer, rowing in college, and seriously lifting since high school, I am not mystified over the exceedingly simple relationship between strenuous exercise and eating a sensible diet, and being fit.
Current stats:
Immersing myself into full-blown German Volume Training.

That should be a point of pride to you, not an insult. You're eating to fuel yourself up for the self-inflicted beat down you're going to give yourself at the gym, so who cares if some random comes up to you and comments on your eating habits?

I am one of those people who probably comments too much too (not to random strangers so much in restaurants, but still) so not to defend her, but she probably didn't even think of it as a cut down. It may have been more of a Captain Obvious kind of thing. You should go back and eat it again with pride!

thanks again everyone. i appreciate it. im trying not to take what everyone says to heart. who is this woman anyway? she means nothing to me?!! im glad i can eat foods i enjoy in moderation and i maintain my weight but i also know how hard i work in the gym (but i dont need to explain that to starngers). it reminds of the time i saw a lady in the gym who said to me-all you do is ride the bike so slowly (she happened to have seen me on a lighter workout day but i didnt tell her that)and you lose weight and i workout so hard and cant lose anything. meanwhile, she has no clue what i do on the other days or behind the scenes. then when she asked for advice as to what my routine was she was in total disagreement of using a heart rate monitor etc. sometimes you just have to laugh i guess although it is pretty sad.
